He said to Mr. Yentzer, "See what I have done," and pointed to his wife's body as she lay dying. With this remark, he knelt down by her and instantly fired a bullet into his own temple, ending it all and thus saving Potter county several hundred dollars. He could see there was no way to escape and many people had already gathered about him and Mr. Yentzer was in about three feet of him when he took his own life. Mrs. Clark, who continued to breathe, was taken into her mother's house, where she was living, and given every attention until she died. She never, regained consciousness. His body was taken to the home of his brother, George Clark, who lives in Roulette. He also has a brother, J. W., who lives in Mina. Grabe & Son were notified and they took. charge of both bodies. Mrs. Clark's funeral was held Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock at her mother's home. Interment in the Lyman Cemetery at Roulette. His funeral was held Tuesday af ternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his brother, George. Interment In Card Creek cemetery. Both funerals were largely attended and both under the direction of G. H. Grabe and Son. Goodall, of Roulette, father of Mrs. Chester Clark, who was murdered by her husband, was here Saturday, in consultation with District Attorney Nelson. He is very bitter in his criticism of Edward Fisk and his wife, who he married twenty-eight years ago. He charges that Mrs. Goodall and Fisk, by their conduct, are the real causes leading up to the murder of his only daughter, and the suicide of Clark. He says that Clark attempted suicide by poisoning before he was married to his daughter. He insists that since he was married twenty-eight years ago, his wife deserted him thirty-seven times being away from him on the various occasions all the way from two months to two years. They are now living apart. Mr. Goodhall is very anxious to get some legal hold on Fisk, declaring that justice demands he should be punished criminally. He was advised by attorneys, however, that there is no chance, as Clark is the only person that could have successfully prosecuted him. Mr. Goodhall, who is 68 years old, is a carpenter and was at one time fairly prosperous. Mr. Fisk is 64 years old and is now employed in tne stave mill at Roulette. Mr. Goodhall(sic)seems very determined in his desire to have Fisk punished but made no personal threats to the writer. Clark, of Clara township, has brought suit for two thousand dollars damages for alieniating the affections or his wife, Anna, against Edwin L. Fisk, of the same town. This being a case in trespass, the defendant was arrested by the sheriff by a similar process as in a criminal case. Sheriff Kenneda was given the capias last Friday about noon and Deputy Sheriff Babcock made the service on ___. Fisk furnished bail in the sum of $1,000 for his appearance at the March term of Court. Clark's complaint, which he has filed with Prothonotary F. J. Wandall, is as follows: The plaintiff, Chester E. Clark, claims damages of the defendant, Edward L. After felling her frail body with bullets, the murderer turned his weapon upon himself as he kneeled at the prostrate form of his dying young wife and fired a shot into his own right temple, which killed him instantly. During the past year Clark and his wife have had much serious trouble and doubtless these horrible crimes are but a culmination of these former Quarrels. Saturday night he went to the home of Mrs. J. W. Goodall, his wife's mother, where his wife had been stopping with their two children, and started a quarrel. She was sitting on the porch, but as their quarrel was well on she stepped down on the walk with him. He used most vile language in abusing her and she offered to give him a slap, when he instantly drew bis revolver and began firing at her. The first shot entered the left breast between the heart and shoulder when she fell; the second penetrated her right cheek, then he shot her in the back. The last two shots he fired after she had fallen. After she lay on the ground before him, he was cruel enough to fire two leaden bullets into her helpless form. He shot her three times in all. Mrs. Clark was Miss Anna Goodall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Goodall. She married Clark on August 2, 1906, when she was but fourteen years old. He was about 34. She was but a little more than 18 when he so foully murdered her. He proved a very scanty provider and an unkind husband and she has often suffered for the comforts of life. Some months ago, with her children, she took refuge at the home of Edwin L. Fisk, on whose place they had been living, and Clark took advantage of this circumstance by having Fisk arrested on the charge of alienating his wife's affections. Those having knowledge of the facts took no stock in the merits of the case. Most of the sympathy of the community was with the abused wife and neglected children. This case has never been tried and now never will be. If Clark had lived it probably never would have been. Soon after the filing of this suit, Mrs. Clark, through her attorney, W. F. DuBois, filed a libel in divorce, alleging all kinds of cruel treatment, beating, threatening of life and all sorts of indignities. This case would have been heard at the last term of court had not Attorney W. L. Lillibridge, who represented him, asked to have the case continued that he might make a defense. Judge Ormerod granted the continuance providing he would pay the costs and $25 attorney's fee to Mr. DuBois. He has paid neither. But the matter is now settled forever. (Continued on Page Four). Fisk for Horrible Roulette Tragedy. J. W. Goodall, of Roulette, father of Mrs. Chester Clark, who was murdered by her husband, was here Saturday, in consultation with District Attorney Nelson. He is very bitter in his criticism of Edward Fisk and his wife, who he married twenty-eight years ago. He charges that Mrs. Goodall and Fisk, by their conduct, are the real causes leading up to the murder of his only daughter, and the suicide of Clark. He says that Clark attempted suicide by poisoning before he was married to his daughter. He insists that since he was married twenty-eight years ago, his wife deserted him thirty-seven times being away from him on the various occasions all the way from two months to two years. They are now living apart. Mr. Goodhall is very anxious to get some legal hold on Fisk, declaring that justice demands he should be punished criminally. He was advised by attorneys, however, that there is no chance, as Clark is the only person that could have successfully prosecuted him. Mr. Goodhall, who is 68 years old, is a carpenter and was at one time fairly prosperous. Mr. Fisk is 64 years old and is now employed in tne stave mill at Roulette. Clark, of Clara township, has brought suit for two thousand dollars damages for alieniating the affections or his wife, Anna, against Edwin L. Fisk, of the same town. This being a case in trespass, the defendant was arrested by the sheriff by a similar process as in a criminal case. Sheriff Kenneda was given the capias last Friday about noon and Deputy Sheriff Babcock made the service on ___. Fisk furnished bail in the sum of $1,000 for his appearance at the March term of Court. Clark's complaint, which he has filed with Prothonotary F. J. Wandall, is as follows: The plaintiff, Chester E. Clark, claims damages of the defendant, Edward L. Fisk, To the amount hereinafter demanded, upon the following statement: For that whereas the said defendant, contriving and wrongfully, wickedly and unjustly, intending to injure the said plaintiff, and to deprive him of tbe comfort, fellowship, society, aid and assistance of Anna Clark, the wife of the said plaintiff, and to alienate and destroy her affection for the said plaintiff, heretofore, to w;t, on or about the first day of September, A. D., 1910, and on divers other days and times, between that day and the day of exhibiting this bill, at tiie county of Potter and state of Pennsylvania, wrongfully, wickedly and unjustly debauched and carnally knew the said Anna Clark, then and there, and still being the wife of the said plaintiff, and thereby the. affection of the said Anna Clark for the said plaintiff was elienated and destroyed, and also, by means of the premises, the said plaintiff hath from thence hitherto wholly lost and been "deprived of, the comfort, fellowship, society, aid and assistance of the said Anna Clark, his said wife, in his domestic affairs, which the said plaintiff during all that time ought to 'have had, and otherwise might and would have had to wit, at the county of Potter aforesaid. And further that the said plaintiff, because of the seduction of his said wife by the defendant, as aforesaid, separated from her, his said wife, upon the 30th day of December, 1910. To the damage to the said plaintiff of $2,000 and therefore he brings this suit, &c. In an amended statement, Chester E. Clark says that the said Anna Clark, prior to the time of being debauched by the said Edward L. Fisk, which was upon or about September 1st, 1910, and at divers other times, had been a true and affectionate wife and mother to the two childnen born to the said Chester E. Clark and Anna Clark. That the said Edward L. Fisk, by his wrongful and wicked and improper relations with the said Anna Clark has alienated the affections of the said Anna Clark for her husband, the said Chester E. Clark, the deponent, whereby the deponent has lost the fellowship, society, aid, assistance and comfort, of the said Anna Clark, by the said Edward L. Fisk, as aforesaid, the defendant has sustained damages and injuries to the amount of $3,000 and upwards and has suffered in wounded feelings, a loss which no amount of money can ever pay. Signed, Chester E. Clark. Deputy Sheriff Coleman Smith went to Fishing Creek and brought Mr. Fisk to Coudersport on Saturday. He furnished bail and was released. After felling her frail body with bullets, the murderer turned his weapon upon himself as he kneeled at the prostrate form of his dying young wife and fired a shot into his own right temple, which killed him instantly. During the past year Clark and his wife have had much serious trouble and doubtless these horrible crimes are but a culmination of these former Quarrels. Saturday night he went to the home of Mrs. J. W. Goodall, his wife's mother, where his wife had been stopping with their two children, and started a quarrel. She was sitting on the porch, but as their quarrel was well on she stepped down on the walk with him. He used most vile language in abusing her and she offered to give him a slap, when he instantly drew bis revolver and began firing at her. The first shot entered the left breast between the heart and shoulder when she fell; the second penetrated her right cheek, then he shot her in the back. The last two shots he fired after she had fallen. After she lay on the ground before him, he was cruel enough to fire two leaden bullets into her helpless form. He shot her three times in all. Mrs. Clark was Miss Anna Goodall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Goodall. She married Clark on August 2, 1906, when she was but fourteen years old. He was about 34. She was but a little more than 18 when he so foully murdered her. He proved a very scanty provider and an unkind husband and she has often suffered for the comforts of life. Some months ago, with her children, she took refuge at the home of Edwin L. Fisk, on whose place they had been living, and Clark took advantage of this circumstance by having Fisk arrested on the charge of alienating his wife's affections. Those having knowledge of the facts took no stock in the merits of the case. Most of the sympathy of the community was with the abused wife and neglected children. This case has never been tried and now never will be. If Clark had lived it probably never would have been. Soon after the filing of this suit, Mrs. Clark, through her attorney, W. F. DuBois, filed a libel in divorce, alleging all kinds of cruel treatment, beating, threatening of life and all sorts of indignities. This case would have been heard at the last term of court had not Attorney W. L. Lillibridge, who represented him, asked to have the case continued that he might make a defense. Judge Ormerod granted the continuance providing he would pay the costs and $25 attorney's fee to Mr. DuBois. He has paid neither. But the matter is now settled forever. (Continued on Page Four). He said to Mr. Yentzer, "See what I have done," and pointed to his wife's body as she lay dying. With this remark, he knelt down by her and instantly fired a bullet into his own temple, ending it all and thus saving Potter county several hundred dollars. He could see there was no way to escape and many people had already gathered about him and Mr. Yentzer was in about three feet of him when he took his own life. Mrs. Clark, who continued to breathe, was taken into her mother's house, where she was living, and given every attention until she died. She never, regained consciousness. His body was taken to the home of his brother, George Clark, who lives in Roulette. He also has a brother, J. W., who lives in Mina. Grabe & Son were notified and they took. charge of both bodies. Mrs. Clark's funeral was held Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock at her mother's home. Interment in the Lyman Cemetery at Roulette. His funeral was held Tuesday af ternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his brother, George. Interment In Card Creek cemetery. Both funerals were largely attended and both under the direction of G. H. Grabe and Son. J. W. Goodall, of Roulette, father of Mrs. Chester Clark, who was murdered by her husband, was here Saturday, in consultation with District Attorney Nelson. He is very bitter in his criticism of Edward Fisk and his wife, who he married twenty-eight years ago. He charges that Mrs. Goodall and Fisk, by their conduct, are the real causes leading up to the murder of his only daughter, and the suicide of Clark. He says that Clark attempted suicide by poisoning before he was married to his daughter. He insists that since he was married twenty-eight years ago, his wife deserted him thirty-seven times being away from him on the various occasions all the way from two months to two years. They are now living apart.
Mr. Goodhall is very anxious to get some legal hold on Fisk, declaring that justice demands he should be punished criminally. He was advised by attorneys, however, that there is no chance, as Clark is the only person that could have successfully prosecuted him. Mr. Goodhall, who is 68 years old, is a carpenter and was at one time fairly prosperous. Mr. Fisk is 64 years old and is now employed in tne stave mill at Roulette. Mr. Goodhall(sic)seems very determined in his desire to have Fisk punished but made no personal threats to the writer.

WANTS $2,000 FOR HIS WIFE'S AFFECTIONS
Through his attorney, W. L. Lillibridge, Chester E. Clark, of Clara township, has brought suit for two thousand dollars damages for alieniating the affections or his wife, Anna, against Edwin L. Fisk, of the same town. This being a case in trespass, the defendant was arrested by the sheriff by a similar process as in a criminal case. Sheriff Kenneda was given the capias last Friday about noon and Deputy Sheriff Babcock made the service on ___.
Fisk furnished bail in the sum of $1,000 for his appearance at the March term of Court.
Clark's complaint, which he has filed with Prothonotary F. J. Wandall, is as follows:
The plaintiff, Chester E. Clark, claims damages of the defendant, Edward L. Fisk, To the amount hereinafter demanded, upon the following statement: For that whereas the said defendant, contriving and wrongfully, wickedly and unjustly, intending to injure the said plaintiff, and to deprive him of tbe comfort, fellowship, society, aid and assistance of Anna Clark, the wife of the said plaintiff, and to alienate and destroy her affection for the said plaintiff, heretofore, to w;t, on or about the first day of September, A. D., 1910, and on divers other days and times, between that day and the day of exhibiting this bill, at tiie county of Potter and state of Pennsylvania, wrongfully, wickedly and unjustly debauched and carnally knew the said Anna Clark, then and there, and still being the wife of the said plaintiff, and thereby the. affection of the said Anna Clark for the said plaintiff was elienated and destroyed, and also, by means of the premises, the said plaintiff hath from thence hitherto wholly lost and been "deprived of, the comfort, fellowship, society, aid and assistance of the said Anna Clark, his said wife, in his domestic affairs, which the said plaintiff during all that time ought to 'have had, and otherwise might and would have had to wit, at the county of Potter aforesaid. And further that the said plaintiff, because of the seduction of his said wife by the defendant, as aforesaid, separated from her, his said wife, upon the 30th day of December, 1910. To the damage to the said plaintiff of $2,000 and therefore he brings this suit, &c. In an amended statement, Chester E. Clark says that the said Anna Clark, prior to the time of being debauched by the said Edward L. Fisk, which was upon or about September 1st, 1910, and at divers other times, had been a true and affectionate wife and mother to the two childnen born to the said Chester E. Clark and Anna Clark. That the said Edward L. Fisk, by his wrongful and wicked and improper relations with the said Anna Clark has alienated the affections of the said Anna Clark for her husband, the said Chester E. Clark, the deponent, whereby the deponent has lost the fellowship, society, aid, assistance and comfort, of the said Anna Clark, by the said Edward L. Fisk, as aforesaid, the defendant has sustained damages and injuries to the amount of $3,000 and upwards and has suffered in wounded feelings, a loss which no amount of money can ever pay.

Deputy Sheriff Coleman Smith went to Fishing Creek and brought Mr. Fisk to Coudersport on Saturday. He furnished bail and was released. The sympathy of many of the best people of Roulette and vicinity is with him.

SHOCKING DOUBLE TRAGEDY AT ROULETTE
Saturday evening, just at dusk, a horrible double murder was committed at Roulette by Chester Clark,
He shot his wife, Anna Clark, several times causing wounds from which she died about 9:30 o'clock.
After felling her frail body with bullets, the murderer turned his weapon upon himself as he kneeled at the prostrate form of his dying young wife and fired a shot into his own right temple, which killed him instantly.
During the past year Clark and his wife have had much serious trouble and doubtless these horrible crimes are but a culmination of these former Quarrels.
Saturday night he went to the home of Mrs. J. W. Goodall, his wife's mother, where his wife had been stopping with their two children, and started a quarrel. She was sitting on the porch, but as their quarrel was well on she stepped down on the walk with him. He used most vile language in abusing her and she offered to give him a slap, when he instantly drew bis revolver and began firing at her. The first shot entered the left breast between the heart and shoulder when she fell; the second penetrated her right cheek, then he shot her in the back. The last two shots he fired after she had fallen. After she lay on the ground before him, he was cruel enough to fire two leaden bullets into her helpless form.
He shot her three times in all.
Mrs. Clark was Miss Anna Goodall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Goodall. She married Clark on August 2, 1906, when she was but fourteen years old. He was about 34. She was but a little more than 18 when he so foully murdered her. He proved a very scanty provider and an unkind husband and she has often suffered for the comforts of life. Some months ago, with her children, she took refuge at the home of Edwin L. Fisk, on whose place they had been living, and Clark took advantage of this circumstance by having Fisk arrested on the charge of alienating his wife's affections. Those having knowledge of the facts took no stock in the merits of the case. Most of the sympathy of the community was with the abused wife and neglected children. This case has never been tried and now never will be. If Clark had lived it probably never would have been.
Soon after the filing of this suit, Mrs. Clark, through her attorney, W. F. DuBois, filed a libel in divorce, alleging all kinds of cruel treatment, beating, threatening of life and all sorts of indignities. This case would have been heard at the last term of court had not Attorney W. L. Lillibridge, who represented him, asked to have the case continued that he might make a defense. Judge Ormerod granted the continuance providing he would pay the costs and $25 attorney's fee to Mr. DuBois. He has paid neither. But the matter is now settled forever. (Continued on Page Four).

After the first shots were fired, Theodore Yentzer, who lives near by, and others hurried to the scene. He said to Mr. Yentzer, "See what I have done," and pointed to his wife's body as she lay dying. With this remark, he knelt down by her and instantly fired a bullet into his own temple, ending it all and thus saving Potter county several hundred dollars. He could see there was no way to escape and many people had already gathered about him and Mr. Yentzer was in about three feet of him when he took his own life.
Mrs. Clark, who continued to breathe, was taken into her mother's house, where she was living, and given every attention until she died. She never, regained consciousness.
His body was taken to the home of his brother, George Clark, who lives in Roulette. He also has a brother, J. W., who lives in Mina. Grabe & Son were notified and they took. charge of both bodies.
Mrs. Clark's funeral was held Tuesday forenoon at 10 o'clock at her mother's home. Interment in the Lyman Cemetery at Roulette.
His funeral was held Tuesday af ternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his brother, George. Interment In Card Creek cemetery. Both funerals were largely attended and both under the direction of G. H. Grabe and Son.
