His father was the late William E. Russell. A 1939 graduate of Shinglehouse High School, Sgt. Russell entered service in September of that year and went overseas in April, 1944. He was a member St. Theresa's Church here. Surviving besides his mother are two brothers - the Rev. Bernard M. Russell. C. S. V.. of Springfield, ILL., and - Lloyd R. Russell of Pueblo, Colo.
