John and Eliz. daughter, Dr. John's sister married Richard Tennent. Eliz. Pertley died Abt. 1809 and is buried in Greene Co. PA. He and Eliz. lived around Winchester, VA but later moved to PA " I moved to Muddy Creek near Uniontown PA and later to Wood Co. Va. The Muddy Creek Ledger of the Seaton Family store in Carmicheal PA states :Jan 1794, a John Brookover brought in some feathers which he traded for six yards of linen. first wife: Dr John Brookover married Ann Rebecca Tennent, she died and he married Sarah Jennings Patterson.

They were in the 1810 census of Monongalia Co. WV. In 1820 they had 2 boys and 3 girls all under 10. Some of their children were John, Abraham P., Malissa, William G., Pleasant, Priscilla, Orpha, and Josephus. Ann Rebecca died between 1831 and 1839. Does anyone have a record of when she died and where she is buried? John Brookover married 2) Sarah Jennings Patterson, widow of Thomas Patterson, 30 Nov 1839. They moved to Monroe Co. OH. There he is listed as a physician in the census. In the Core & Monongalia Story & books John Brookover has a tanyard. So I would like to know when and how he became a doctor. The reason I do think this is the same John Brookover is his year of birth, 1790, PA; and they lived in Monongalia Co. for a while. He is not in the 1850 Monongalia census. Can anyone tell me more? Since his sister, Mary Margaret also married a Tennant and lived in Monongalia Co., there would have been many Brookover, Tennant cousins.
