She was captured by Indians in a raid in Greene Co. PA around Garrant Fort. Lewis Wetzel and Henry Six, her brother tried to get her back and ran up to the mouth of Yellow Creek on the Ohio River but lost her there. Years later another brother Lewis found her in Upper Canada not to far from Detroit and brought her back. She lived and is buried in Parkerburg. WV. She had md Charles Monger while captive and they had 3 children. He was killed at Fallen Timber. Their son stayed behind. but the 2 girls came back with Christiana. Lewis died at one of the Six's but was later brought back and is buried in Wheeling WV. The book "That Dark and Bloody River" has a lot about Lewis Wetzel.
