Record for Ezekial "Robert" Campbell Letter transcribed: Rev. 1812 Wars Section 'M.C.S.' October 14, 1927 Mrs. A.T. Clark 409 E. First ST. McCook, Nebraska Madam: I have to advise you that from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim, (W?)3334, it appears that Robert Campbell was born January 20, 1755, and was the son of Robert and Catherine. He enlisted in Sussex County, New Jersey, in 1776, and served until 1777 as a private in Captain William Bond's Company in Colonel Ephraim Martin's New Jersey Regiment; he sustained a gunshot wound in the leg at the battle of Long Island and was under surgeon's care for nine months at Elizabethtown where he was discharged as "unfit for duty." He was allowed pension on his application executed July 14, 1818, at which time he was a resident of Nothumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died December 1, 1831, in Shamokin Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He married in Greenwich Township New Jersey, August 3 or 30, 1782, Mary Reynolds who was born February 20, 1762, and was the daughter of William and Mary Reynolds. Mary, the widow of Robert Campbell, was allowed pension on her application executed January 29, 1840, while a resident of Shamokin Township, Pennsylvania. She died there January 10, 1844.
