John Arthur Snyder Sr., 73, Reynoldsville, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born April 11, 1942, in Coudersport, he was the son of Chester Arthur and Hila (Euken) Snyder.
He was married to Louis Monteen (Burke).
John was a graduate of DAHS(? CAHS? -jcw) and had attended Pittsburg Art Institute for 18 months. [John received an award for Art in the Awards Ceremony, Coudersport High School -jcw]
He was in the U.S. Army during Vietnam with the 24th Infantry Division.
He retired from the DuBois Hospital as a supervisor in maintenance.
John attended Rathmel Baptist Church.
He loved art and spending time with his family.
John is survived by seven children:
Cheryl Pollack, North Carolina,
Lori Lee (Chuck), New York,
Tina Louise (Joseph) Howard, DuBois,
David (Blanche) Heist, Falls Creek,
John Heist, Williamsport,
Michael Snyder, Reynoldsville and
Chris Snyder, DuBois;
14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren;
and one sister, Alice Jean Stiles, Coudersport.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife and eight brothers and sisters.
A memorial service and fellowship will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Rathmel Baptist Church, 5 Brick Road, Reynoldsville, PA 15851 with Pastor Ken Eddy. Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home, DuBois.
