Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey A. Mahaley
Miss Melody Ann Gerhart and Geoffrey Alan Mahaley were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (March 1, 1975) in Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport.
The Rev. Donald H.G. Miller officiated at the double-ring ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gerhart, Coudersport, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mahaley, Coudersport RD.
Vases of flowers adorned the altar and wedding music was played by Randall Halter, organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown, made by her mother, of polyester knit. It was fashioned with long sleeves of flowered lace, with matching lace flowers accenting the front of the dress. Her flowered lace train was attached to the back. A crystal crown held her bouffant, elbow-length veil of illusion and she carried three, long-stemmed roses. During the ceremony she presented one rose to her mother and another to the mother of the groom.
Miss Sandra Spaulding, Coudersport, was maid of honor in a gown of multi-colored, polka dot, polyester knit with plum colored jacket.Teresa King, niece of the bride, was flower girl and similarly attired, and carried a basket of pompons and carnations and petals.
Bridesmaids were Deborah Gerhart, sister of the bride, and Janine Mahaley, sister of the groom. Dawn Trumbauer, Trumbauersville, niece of the bride was junior bridesmaid. They were attired in gowns of light purple, pink and dark pink respectively, with multi colored, polka dot jackets.
They carried bouquets of pink carnations and purple status.
For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother selected a floor-length gown of beige floral polyester. The groom's mother chose a floor-length gown of apricot color trimmed in gold.
Nicholas Lombard, Erie, served as best man. Ushers were Raymond Brown, Coudersport, and Jeffrey Gerhart, brother of the bride, Trumbauersville. Shane Wilson, Coudersport, was junior usher, and David Hess, East Greenville, was ringbearer.
A ceremony, attended by 175 guests, was held at the Coudersport Firehall with music by the Back Roads. Joann Predmore, Coudersport, and Elliotts Bakery, Port Allegany, catered.
Both the bride and bridgroom are seniors at Coudersport Area High School. Mr. Mahaley is employed at E.H. Tucker and Sons as a mechanic.
