Mrs. Marie Vater Dies At Her Home At Turtle Point At Age of Sixty- Four Years.
On Saturday Mrs. Marie Vater died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. D.L. Taylor at Turtle Point at the age of sigty eight years. She was the widow of the late Joseph Vaterwho died in March, 1910.
Mrs. Vater was born in Austria- Hungary and was the daughter of Carl Snyder. In her early maidenhood she became the bride of Joseph Vater and their first four children,

Pauline (deceased),
were all born in the old country. When they came to America, their first born, Mary, remained with the grandparents and the parents never again saw her. Three children, Augusta, wife of Nels Anderson of Port Allegany: Edward and Robert were born in this country.
It is more than forty five years since Joseph Vater and his young wife located on the farm on Dutch Hill, where they resided until death came to him and where Mrs. Vater remained for some years longer.
Mrs. Vater was devoted to her home and family. Her son Charles who is located in Gainesvlle, Ga., was unable to come to Coudersport at this time.
Mrs. Vater has reared a family of children all of whom are a credit to her motherhood and by all of them she was deeply loved and revered.
One great grand child, Clayton Taylor aged seven months also survives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and burial made in the Eulalia Cemetery.
