Fessenden-Ernst
Port Allegany Couple to Make Home On Sartwell Creek.
Miss Barbara Jean Fessenden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Fessenden of Port Allegany, became the bride of Francis D. Ernst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ernst, of Port Allegany, Saturday afternoon, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Carlson, retired pastor of the church and the Rev. L. M. Casler. Mrs. Bernard Ryan played the appropriate music and accompanied Robert Swinsick, soloist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of silk organza and hand clipped chantilly lace. The fitted bodice was styled with a sabrina neckline embelished with sequins and bridal pearls and long tapered sleeves. The full skirt, worn over a hoop, was accented by lace panels extending from the waist to the hem. The back bow, in a bustle effect, tem-minated in a chapel train. The veil of French illusion was hand rolled and attached to a crown of chantilly lace enhanced with pearls and sequins. An heirloom Bible, which belonged to the bride's great grandmother, was topped with a white orchid and lilies-of-the-valley were attached to the white satin streamers.
Maid of honor was Miss Lois Dunbar, of Port Allegany. Miss Donna Kay Okerlund, of Smethport, was bridesmaid. Debby Haskins, of Coudersport, was flower girl and Duane Moshier of Port Allegany was the ringbearer. Both are cousins of the bridegroom.
Following the ceremony, a reception lor 100 was held in the church parlors.
The couple will make their new home on the Sartwell Creek Rd. Both attended Port Allegany Union High School. The bridegroom is associated with his father on the Meadowbrook Farm.
