He ancestors were born in Roulette in Potter Co., PA, and her mother was Maxine Drabert who now lives in Westline, PA with husband, Harp ?? Jennifer (my friend) is the daughter of Maxine, and Jenn told me how she loved her grandmother, Margaret Marschner who married Lester Drabert. Margaret died when Jenn was 16 in act. 1986. Her mother had been Mina Wieper(sp), and then I saw a photo on your site and printed it out for her. She is going to be so overjoyed because I told her I could maybe find something about her family, and now she will even see a photo! God is good! I'm 83 and have been studying genealogy all my adult life. She may want to meet you. Whaley Marschner was my 1st cousin 3x removed. Margaret was my 2nd cousin 2x removed. Her daughter, Clara Viola Drabert married Ken Scott of Hebron twp, Potter County. They lived on a little farm across the street from me on Center Park Street, Coudersport. Clara and my mother were fairly close. (Clara was actually pretty abused by Ken when he drank.) I spent a lot of time with Ken when I was a kid, skidding logs with work horses, etc. I think I substituted for his son, Johnny, who'd grown and gone. Small world! I can find no record for Maxine. Can you fill me in a little more? I'd love to get that family correct. I'd only had Margaret and Lester's children Keith and Joyce. I just added Maxine, if I understood the above correctly, and will search for her. Have you seen more than one photo of Mina and Arthur Marschner? I have a class pic of Arthur at Card Creek (Roulette); he and brother John are two men. They were both teachers. Maxine is the mother of my friend, Jennifer Forquer. Maxine lives with her 2nd husband, (a widow) and Maxine used to be a librarian at Bradford High School. After her 1st husband died, she moved to Westline--a small town of about 100 persons and is a great fishing community. Its only business is the Westline Inn, a wonderful restaurant which also has a few rooms upstairs it rents out on occasion to men who come there to fish. I've met Harp, Maxine's husband a few times, but I only heard his name once and can't think of it right now. Jennifer, Maxine's daughter, is a trained sign language interpreter in NY state, but right now is staying in the area here with an elderly woman who needs her help. No, I only saw and printed out the picture of Mina and her family. I haven't opened a file for them on Ancestry yet, but will soon. Jennifer knows that her ancestor, Anton Marschner, left Germany without his wife whose name was Elizabeth Palmer and never sent for her. She hasn't told me when that was yet. I met Jenn through my daughter, Denise Drummond, who is an accomplished artist and musician. (4th generation). we have written two books together--my writing, her artwork. In 2012 we won 4 book awards for our 1st book, "My Grama's Garden." Denise worked at the Westline Inn for years to supplement her income as a "starving artist." A lot of her work is in there always. BTW, I have this in Anton II's file; the source was apparently deleted in one of my sync issues, so I must have had it for many years: Recollections about Anthony Marschner of Ed Marschner from conversations with my grandparents Ernest and Agnes. Anthony's first four children (Olga, Arthur, John, and Joseph) were born in Buffalo where he and Sarah settled after their marriage. He ran a store on Genessee St. where he sold his wood carvings and framed pictures. This area of Buffalo hosted a huge German immigrant population The family lived above the store, which was across the street from a large open-air market. He was born at Butler on Aug. 31,1908, a son of William H. and Sarah Eppinger Drabert. On Sept. 30, 1939 in Card Creek he married the former Margaret Marschner, who survives. Mr. Drabert was a lifetime resident of Roulette and self-employed. He was a member of the Sartwell Creek United Methodist Church and the Burtville Grange. He was a director of (he Potter County Grange Insurance and the Card Creek Cemetery Association. Surviving, besides his widow, are t wo sons, Gary L. Drabert , Card Creek, and Keith A.
