In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by brothers: Clem and Hughie Crosby.

Barr, 79, of Austin, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, at UPMC - Williamsport. Barbara was born on July 8, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Cedric and Helen (Cooney) Crosby. Barbara married George Barr on November 23, 1963, and celebrated 46 years of marriage until his passing on May 15, 2010. Barbara graduated from Austin High School, Class of 196­­­3 and worked many years for Emporium Specialist, Austin. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Austin, and a life member of the Austin-Costello Sportsman Club. Barbara also loved bird watching. Barbara is survived by a daughter: Jan (Jim) Eckert of Bridgeville, DE; a son Chad (Deb) Barr of Austin; brothers: Terry (Ruth) Crosby of Austin; Bill Crosby of Austin; a sister: Connie (Joe) Clingan of Ohio; grandchildren: Chad Barr, Jr., Lacey (Jason) Russell, and Kelsey Eckert, step grandchildren: April, Beth, Sherri, Heather, Alli, and Megan Hudson, step great grandchildren: Ardell Hudson, and Evelyn George.
