• Name	Wood, Avarilla
  	Robert Davis followed his brother, John Davis, to Clinton County. Born April 16, 1754, Robert was a cripple and did not serve in the Revolution He married Avarilla Wood, daughter of Henry and Avarilla Wood, and moved from Virginia to North Carolina, then back to Virginia, then to Sevier county, Tennessee. He arrived in this county June 4, 1804, settling in the northern part of the present county on the place later known as the Samuel Owen farm. Robert Davis died March 22, 1843. His wife, Avarilla, survived him but by a day or two. They were buried together in the same grave
