MR. AND MRS. ROBERT OWEN DINGMAN, JR.
A single-ring ceremony Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Methodist Church united in marriage Miss Lois Marie Wixson and Robert Owen Dingman Jr. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald F. Wixson of 35 N. Brooklyn Ave. and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert 0. Dingman of 147 E. Genesee St.
The candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Glenn Bucher, pastor, before an altar decorated with four palm trees and baskets of white gladloli and yellow carnations.
Organist Mrs. James Marsh rendered traditional wedding | music and accompanied soloist Miss Jeanette Wilson as she sang The Lord's Prayer.
Miss Patricia J. Clark of 115 Chili Ave., Rochester, was maid of honor and Miss Deanna Jesuitas of Manila, the Phillippines, a student in Rochester, and Miss Jeanette Wilson of 115 Chili Ave., Rochester, were bridesmaids.
Flower girl was Miss Marguerite Dingman, Palmer, Mass., cousin of the groom, and ring bearer was Michael Friend, Manlius, cousin of the bride.
Best man was Thomas Dingman. Ushers were Richard Dingman, William Wixson, James Wixson and Peter Dingman, all of Wellsville.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white lace over taffeta gown styled with scalloped scoop neckline, and long lace sleeves which pointed over the wrists. The front of the gown featured a lace panel and the sides and back fell into tiers of lace. Her elbow-length bouffant veil was attached to a crown of seed pearls and matching lace, a nd white orchid centered Her cascade bouquet of white Loses with ivy streamers. of honor and bridesmaids wore sheath brocades of pale mint green taffeta styled with scoop necklines. elbow-length sleeves and full overskirts of matching taffeta. Their headdresses were of mint treen satin ribbon in the shanel of roses and accented with mint green nylon net vells. They carried cascade bouquets of folliages formed into giant flowers with ivy streamers.
The flower girl wore a streetlength gown of yellow brocade taffeta styled to match the other attendants. She wore a matching brocade taffeta headdress with veil and carried a miniature bouquet identical to the maid of honor's and bridesmaids.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Wixson chose a two-piece pink lace over taffeta dress, white accessories and a white gladiola corsage. The groom's mother wore an aqua silk sheath dress, matching accessories and a white gladiola corsage.
Immediately following the ceremony a reception for 125 guests was held in the church parlors. Assisting hostesses were the Misses Sharon Robinson of Scio, Linda Buckwalter and Diane Sweet, both of Welisville, and Mrs. Toni Colts Olean.
The buffet table was decorated with the bride's attendants' bouquets, the bridal table with centerpieces of white and yellow mixed flowers, and the other tables with centerpieces of orange lilies and wildflowers. The three tiered cake was s adorned with white and pink roses and miniature bells and was topped with three large. bells and three swans. Four sugar slippers surrounded the cake.
Out-of-town. guests attended from Rochester, Olean, Syracuse, Leroy, and Black Creek: also, Palmer, Mass.; Princeton, Mass.: Manila, Phillipines; and| Westfield, Mass.
After the reception the couple left for a wedding trip to Lake George and the Adirondack Mts. For traveling the bride wore a two- piece dress of aqua embroidered linen, white accessories and white orchid corsage.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of Wellsville High School. Mrs. Dingman also graduated from Alfred Tech and Rochester General Hospital School of Medical Technology and will be employed as a medical technologist in Albany. Her husband is a graduate Alfred University and is employed by Mobil Oil Company in Albany.
Prenuptial events included a shower given in Rochester by the Misses Jeanette Wilson, Patricia Clark and Sharon Robinson and a rehearsal dinner given by the groom's parents. The couple will reside at the Brandi Apartments, RD2, Castleton-on-the-Hudson,
Steadman Family Holds Annual Meet
GENESEE, Pa. - The fourth annual reunion of the Steadman family was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Steadman.
Thirty-two members were present from Rochester, Dansville, Duke Center, Whitesville and Genesee.
At the business meeting officers for next year were elected: president, Jack Karney of Rochester; vice-president, Robert Gill; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Mary Steadman.
The group decided to hold the 1965 reunion at the same place.

• ROBERT OWEN DINGMAN Robert Owen Dingman, age 84, formerly of 4 Thresher Place, Freeville, NY died Monday, April 1, 2002 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, NY. Mr. Dingman was born June 26, 1917 at Palmer, MA a son of the late Charles F. and Monna G. Cox Dingman.
On July 11, 1940 he was married to the former Roberta F. MacGeachey at Palmer, MA. He was a Licensed Surveyor and a Civil Engineer working in his father's business at Palmer, MA and later for Levitt & Sons at Levittown, NY and Levittown, PA. Later Robert was the director of Public Works at Wellsville, NY until coming to the City of Ithaca in 1965 where he was the superintendent of Public Works until retiring in 1981. Robert was a member of the Ithaca Rotary Club and a life member of the American Public Works Association.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Roberta F. Dingman of Ithaca; three sons, Robert O. (Linda) Dingman of Gowanda, NY, Thomas W. Dingman of Butler, PA, Peter A. (Claudia) Dingman of Alexandria, VA; three brothers, Lester F. (Evora) Dingman of Bradenton, FL. Paul R. Dingman of West Eaton, NY and Daniel B. (Frances) Dingman of Tampa, FL; a sister, Monna E. (Jacques) Fauteux of Hubbardston, MA; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sisterin-law, Catherine (Raleigh) Dingman of Greensboro, NC; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dingman was predeceased by a son, Richard F. Dingman;
four brothers, C. Wesley Dingman, Stanley T. Dingman, Gerald F. Dingman, and Raleigh E. Dingman.
A celebration of Mr. Dingman's life will be held April 13, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Longview, Bella Vista Drive, Ithaca, NY.
There are no calling hours at this time. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Perkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
