Robert T. Maxson, 45, of Mansfield, died Thursday in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born April 9, 1930, at Shinglehouse, he was a son of Jack and Genevieve Simons Maxson. He married the former Sara Mae Livingston, who survives.
Mr. Maxson taught school in Bradford for 10 years and at the time of his death was a professor at Mansfield State College in the health and physical education department. He was also a basketball and track coach. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two daughters, Kathi Maxson and Carolyn Maxson and a son, David Maxson, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Genevieve Sommermann, St. Cloud, Fla.; and four brothers,
Curt Maxson, Syracuse, N.Y.,
Merle Maxson, Canton, N.Y.,
John Maxson, Friendship, N.Y., and William Maxson, San Diego, Calif.
Memorial services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Mansfield with the Rev. Benjamin Nevin, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Oakfield Cemetery, Mansfield.
