Roulette, May 22.- Mrs. Nettie Ann Yentzer passed away very suddenly at her home last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Yentzer was born on Sartwell Creek, June 4, 1862 and was the daughter of George and Laura Lyman Weimer. She was united in marriage to G. Lewis Yentzer, September 21, 1886 on Sartwell Creek. One daughter Laura was born to this union who passed away May 18, 1929. Her husband G. Lewis Yentzer preceded her in death August 6, 1917. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. M. W. Robinson; one adopted son Robert Allen nieces. services were held Yentzer, pulleven nephews and ten Sunday, May 21. at the Baptist church at 2 P. M. with Rev. Weyhe officiating. Interment was made in the Hill cemetery, "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Does Jesus Care" were sung by Mrs. Ethel Kannelly and Miss Anna Smith. She was beloved by her many relatives and hosts of friends and will be greatly missed by her loving deeds. It was said of her, she was ready to meet her God. The bearers were: E. M. Weimer, Major Weimer, Charlie Stearns, Wayland Robinson, Olney Robinson and Earl Weimer. Miss Nettie Weimer of Pleasant Valley & G.L. Yentzer of Burtville, mar. Sept. 21, 1886, at Port Allegany.

Williston, son of George and Margaret (Lehman) Weimar, was born in Alsace, France (now Germany), November 27, 1816. In 1830 he came to America with his parents, who located at Roulette, Potter county, where they engaged in farming and spent the rest of their lives; their children were -George and - Eve. His father's second wife was Eve Wiederich, and their children were - Michael, - Barbara, - Mrs. Margaret Manning, - Mrs. Sally Jackson, - William A., - Frederick, - John and - Mrs. Dorcas Marsh. The subject of these lines made his home with his parents until nineteen years of age, when he began to work for farmers, and in 1836 bought a tract of wild land on which he located in 1842. This he cleared and improved, and now has one of the best farms in Pleasant Valley township. He was married in 1842, to Laura, daughter of Burrel Lyman. Their children are - Sarah (Mrs. Roscoe Stearns), - Otis, - Willis, - Ella (Mrs. Dr. Stearns, of Port Allegany, Penn.), - Mary (Mrs. F. ROULETTE, Pa., March 6.-George Weimer,. aged 90, died last Monday on his farm near this place, where he had lived for seventy years. He was the last of the pioneer woodsmen and raftsmen of the Allegheny and Susquehanna headwaters, and was famous as a pedestrian and runner in his early days. Once, being on a rafting trip down the river, he walked from Jersey Shore to Roulette, 70 miles, between breakfast and early bedtime, or in about IT hours, over a rough and hilly wilderness road, with a stop of only an hour for rest and refreshment during the entire journey. The reason he made it, he always explained by saying: "I had always called on my girl that right of the week, and I wasn't going to let a little matter of 70 miles fool me out of it that night." The girl he travelled too far to see was the daughter of Burrill Lyman of Roulette, and she soon afterward became his wife. Laroy Lyman of Roulette shot at a deer in the hills back of that place one day, and called on Weimer to fetch one of his dogs. The dog would not follow the deer's track, and Weimer himself took after the HAM*. When Weimer started the dog took the track and went ahead and overtook the deer, a buck. The deer fought the dog and scared it eo that when Weimer came up it would only keep at its heels, the deer having started on again. Weimer followed the deer over ridges, down hollows, across streams and through swamps and tangled thickets, giving it no rest, and at last drove it into the open and toward the Allegheny River. The deer at last entered a field that lay between the woods and the river. There Weimer caught it. Lyman's shot' had not hit it. The dog came lagging and panting in a few minutes afterward and lay down in a fence corner, tired out.. Weimer cut the deer's throat and carried the carcass nearly a mile t o a farmhouse. He had run the deer, as near as could be calculated b y t h e turnings and twistings of the course, not lees than 11 miles. Leaving the deer at the farm t o be called for, he over the hills, 7 miles. He arrived there an hour ahead of his dog. Weimer, when he married and settled on the farm, worked in the woods or on the river in the winter. When he rafted down the Susquehanna the rafts were, as a rule, run to Columbia, about 200 miles. The return trip could be made by stage and canal, but Weimer always walked it, thus, he declared, saving both time and money. Roulette, May 22.- Mrs. Nettie Ann Yentzer passed away very suddenly at her home last Friday afternoon. Mrs. Yentzer was born on Sartwell Creek, June 4, 1862 and was the daughter of George and Laura Lyman Weimer. She was united in marriage to G. Lewis Yentzer, September 21, 1886 on Sartwell Creek. One daughter Laura was born to this union who passed away May 18, 1929. Her husband G. Lewis Yentzer preceded her in death August 6, 1917. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. M. W. Robinson; one adopted son Robert Allen nieces. services were held Yentzer, pulleven nephews and ten Sunday, May 21. at the Baptist church at 2 P. M. with Rev. Weyhe officiating. Interment was made in the Hill cemetery, "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Does Jesus Care" were sung by Mrs. Ethel Kannelly and Miss Anna Smith. She was beloved by her many relatives and hosts of friends and will be greatly missed by her loving deeds. It was said of her, she was ready to meet her God. The bearers were: E. M. Weimer, Major Weimer, Charlie Stearns, Wayland Robinson, Olney Robinson and Earl Weimer. _____________ George Haynes passed away at the Blossburg hospital on Saturday, May 20. Mr. Haynes was born in Pleasant Valley Township, Potter County, August 29, he was the son of Elnora Reed and Benn Haynes. He was engaged as a farmer for many years on Sartwell Creek. For some time he has made his home in Roulette. He is survived by one daughter Elsie Haynes of Whitesville, N. Y.; Frances Haynes of Eldred; and Dencel Haynes of Roulette; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Jay of Burtville. Prayer service was held at John P. Gardner's home on Main street and the funeral service was held at the Sartwell Creek church, Monday, May 22, at 2:30 with Rev. Peters officiating. The bearers were: Guy Witter, G.H. Yentzer, Jack Wetmore, William Fisk, Roy Fruitger and Fred Ernst. Mrs. Pauline Younglove suffered a bad heart condition on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hill have moved to their home here. Their friends welcome them home. Miss Bernice Tauscher of Florida, is visiting her sister, Mrs. James Sherman and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Woodward entertained the Saturday bridge club Wednesday evening. A delicious was served. lunch. and Mrs. Loren Sanford have moved in with Pete Church on North street. Mrs. William Powers of Austin, visited relatives here the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Larcom of Port Allegany, were calling on friends in town, Sunday. Miss Ruth Howe attended a meeting of the State Committee on Vocational Guidance at Bucknell University on Saturday..
