Perry, 61, of Howard, formerly of Olean, N.Y., died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2015) after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Sept. 25, 1953, in Olean, the son of the late Eugene Perry and Eileen (Perry) Turner. Daniel attended school in Allegany, N.Y., and graduated in 1975 from St. Bonaventure University with a bachelor of science in physics. On July 10, 1976, he married Mary Lynn Barhite, formerly of Salamanca, N.Y. In 2002, he and his family moved to the Mount Vernon area and settled in Apple Valley. Daniel enjoyed many happy hours on the lake, fishing and boating with his family and special walks in Bennett Park with his beagles, Jake and Sophie. The most important times in his life were spent simply with his wife, his children and their spouses. His quiet demeanor was respected by all who knew him; but you knew how much he loved you when he embraced you with his loving arms. He was employed at Dresser-Rand in Olean, and later at Rolls Royce in Mount Vernon. He also worked at Donley Ford, doing what he loved most - selling cars and meeting people. Before becoming ill, he was employed in the quality control department of Cardington Yutaka Technologies, Cardington. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Lynn (Barhite) Perry; his son, Jeffrey Daniel (Ashley) Perry; his daughter, Julie Danielle (Joseph) Rodella; his mother, Eileen (Perry) Turner; stepfather, Leo Turner; sisters, Marjorie (Michael) Nugent, Kathleen (Naomi) Perry; Patty (Thomas) Vesotski; a brother, Thomas (Wanda) Perry; along with several nieces and nephews.
