T, Rochester, oCaclieA , sicl Mrs. Victor Mason IV Miss Donna Marie Fries and Victor Louis Mason IV were united in marriage at 12:00 noon Saturday, Sept. 3, 1966 in the St. Peter and, Paul Church, Towanda. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph A. Griffin, VF, was celebrant at the nuptial Mass for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Fries, Towanda, and the son of Mr. and ' Mrs. Victor L. Mason, Coudersport, Sprays of white, gold and bronze chrysanthemums decorated the church for the occasion. Mrs. Fred Place was organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. William F. Weisensee IV, sister of the bride. - Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white silk organza over taffeta fashioned with chapel train and empire bodice accented with lace applique. An embroidered crown headpiece trimmed with flowers and seed pearls held her fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a cascade arranfomnt of white rn; and white mums. the Rochester School System and her husband is production manager . Miss Jeanne Gibbons was maid of honor in a floor-length gown of gold crepe, empire styled, with train effect in back accented with a bow. A crown of gold fabric daisies held her matching gold tulle veil. Bridesmaids were Miss Frances) Fries, the bride's sister, Towanda; Mrs. Michael G. Owen III, also a sister of the bride, New Haven, Conn.; and Miss Charlotte Jones, Rochester, N. Y. They were dressed identically to the maid of honor except in moss green. The junior bridesmaid, Miss Teresa Fries, Towanda, wore a similar ensem- Mrs. James Findlay presided at the meeting of the Ladies' Aid Society last Wednesday afternoon in the parlors of First United Presbyterian Church. Devotions were led by Mrs. George Heimel. ; Mrs. Louise Dudley gave an account of her visit to an exhibition of religious art in Mbrristbwn, N. J. Paintings, small statues and crosses made of crushed stained glass were shown. Mrs. Heimel . announced a fall retreat of Northumberland Presbytery to be held at Krislund Camp, Sept. 14 from 10:00 a.m.' to 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Charles Mason will be leader of the retreat. The . theme will be "Joy in an Anxious Age." ;; Plans were made" for a' rummage sale in the old Bamford Building starting Sept. 29. Mrs. Kenneth Perry is chairman and Mrs. B. P. Timpano, co-chairman. A get-well card was sent to Mrs. Laurent Johnston, who is a patient in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Dhio. Refreshments were served to 20 members and one guest, Mrs. Lester Krueger of San Antonio, Texas. The committee was comprised of Mrs. Edward Conable, Mrs. Frances Philo, Mrs. David Yardlay, Mrs. Calvin Carpenter and Mrs. Dudley. Mrs. Katherine J. Brehmer Completes Life's Journey
After an illness of more than three years, Mrs. Katherine Josephine Brehmer died Sunday. She had re sided here forty years.
Mrs. Brehmer was born at New Bethlehem, Pa., July 22, 1872, and before her marriage to Frederick H Brehmer at Brookville, Pa., Oct. 17, 1902, she had resided at Ridgway and Cuba, N. Y. She was a daughter of Adam and Mary Corbett Hoy.
Survivors include her husband,
two daughters,
- Mrs. Lucille Mayers, Coudersport; and
- Mrs. Helen Broadwater, Philadelphia;
a grandson, Edward Ruark, Philadelphia;
two sisters,
- Mrs. Mame Blackwell and
- Mrs. Bess Schmitz, New Bethlehem.
Deceased was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Funeral service was held from the Grabe Funeral Home yesterday with the Rev. John C. Moore officiating. Pall bearers were
- John Chamberlin,
- A. C. Thompson,
- Loren Vosburg,
- Joseph Golden,
- Willis Potter and
- Clarence Guenther.
Interment was in Eulalia Cemetery.
Mrs. Dennis Goodenough Is Bridge Club Hostess
Mrs. Dennis Goodenough Jr., was hostess to her bridge club Thursday night at the Brookside Inn.
