I Hope I wasn't to fuzzy about and 2 John Brookover. The 1st John, Dr John's father, md Eliz Pertley. When she died he married Sarah Brown,a widow. Dr John Brookover married Ann Rebecca Tennent, she died and he married Sarah Jennings Patterson. John and Eliz. daughter, Dr. John's sister married Richard Tennent. Eliz. Pertley died Abt. 1809 and is buried in Greene Co. PA. He and Eliz. lived around Winchester, VA but later moved to PA " I moved to Muddy Creek near Uniontown PA and later to Wood Co. Va. The Muddy Creek Ledger of the Seaton Family store in Carmicheal PA states :Jan 1794, a John Brookover brought in some feathers which he traded for six yards of linen.

Hi, Saw yourposting on webroots and hope this will help. Josephus Brookover/ Dr. John Brookover md Ann Tennent. He lived in Carmicheal.PA mover to Mon. Co. WV about 1845/47 and to Monroe Co OH MAy have been in war 1812 and was a physician. married abt 1812. His father was John Brookover md Eliz Pertley and 2nd wife Sarah Brown. .In his revoluntary war pension (#5-5300) states he was born at the "The Woodyards" near Bladenburg, MD. and apprentice as a blacksmith. Ihave a copy of the pension. John DOB Abt 1760/62. Died Abt 1833/37 Boaz Wood Co WV. Johns father Jacob DOB 29 Feb 1738 came with family from Rhine River area Germany. Maybe Baltimore or Bladenburg MD port. Jacob and wife Mary shown purchasing property in Frederick,MD "Fatt Oxen" Jacob may have been tailor by trade. No Birth or Death date for Mary Jacob DOD Abt 1927. He is buried in Carlwick Cem. Muskingum OH beside son Richard. Jacob and Mary also puschased land in Middletown,Va. Hope this info can Help. Ann Rebecca Tennant (Mary, Richard, Richard, Robert) b. 1793 m. John Brookover. They were in the 1810 census of Monongalia Co. WV. In 1820 they had 2 boys and 3 girls all under 10. Some of their children were John, Abraham P., Malissa, William G., Pleasant, Priscilla, Orpha, and Josephus. Ann Rebecca died between 1831 and 1839. Does anyone have a record of when she died and where she is buried? John Brookover married 2) Sarah Jennings Patterson, widow of Thomas Patterson, 30 Nov 1839. They moved to Monroe Co. OH. There he is listed as a physician in the census. In the Core "Monongalia Story" books John Brookover has a tanyard. So I would like to know when and how he became a doctor. The reason I do think this is the same John Brookover is his year of birth, 1790, PA; and they lived in Monongalia Co. for a while. He is not in the 1850 Monongalia census. Can anyone tell me more? Since his sister, Mary Margaret also married a Tennant and lived in Monongalia Co., there would have been many Brookover, Tennant cousins. I believe someone knows more about Ann R. & John, hopefully. --Bobbie Jean

I am sorry, but I do not understand your listings at all. From "Frankie" to "Richard" but all different in betweens.
Regarding Priscilla--I was hoping someone else could answer this. The Yost and the Metz family web sites list Priscilla Brookover as daughter of John Brookover and Sarah. No last name for Sarah. Since Priscilla was born 1812 in Monongalia Co., it seems the only John it could be is the son of John Brookover (Jacob1). Unless it is old John who I think was in Wood Co WV at that time. Two people have said that they have family Bibles that have a notation: John Brookover married Sarah Brown. But no dates, or pertinent informaton that could be helpful. But this is a mystery that has not been solved. So was John Jr married to a Sarah Brown before Ann Rebecca Tennant?? John is listed on the 1810 census for Monongalia Co. I have not found the marriage date for John & Ann R. Tennant. Does anyone know? Our Old John Brookover had children much younger than Priscilla, but she is listed on none of his charts. He is rumored to have a 2nd wife named "Kate" but no one has figured out who she was or when they married. If anyone can help with these riddles, please help us out. ----Bobbie Jean

I have some additional information about this family but not about her death or when or how he became a doctor. You have Priscilla listed as one of their daughters. I don't have her listed. (But some of the children I have listed for them just say female.) Do you have any more information about her?

The reason that there is Frankie listed and Richard and in between it is all different is because Frankie is my dad and he has 6 orginal lines back to Richard and Elizabeth (Haught) Tennant. Ellis is his dad and Eva is his mom and so on.
