He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he was a former lay reader and member of the vestry. A graduate of Ohio University, he earned advanced degrees from the University of Florida and Kings College, University of London, England. At Ohio University, he was a member and officer of Theta Chi Fraternity and during his senior year student director of the Men's Glee Club. At the University of Florida, he was president of the Graduate Club. For several years he was a psychologist with the Florida State Department of Education, where he was coordinator of Deans and Counselors of Florida State and Universities and in charge of S.A.T. and O.A.C. academies testing. He established the Diocesan Student Loan Fund and the Old Saints Memorial, the Roanoke Symphony Young Artist Awards, the Roanoke Symphony Guest Artist Fund, and the Roanoke Valley Choiral Society, Guest Artist Fund. He was a member of the Roanoke Symphony Board of Directors. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mrs. Jacqueline Woolf Pine, Venice, Calif., Mr. W. S. Woolf, Wichita, Kansas, Dr. William Jackson, East Kingston, N.H., Patricia Jackson Thran, Spring Hill, Fla., Mr. J.A. Grover, Bowie, , Md., Lynda Grover West, North Huntingdon, Pa., Sandra Grover, E Bradford, Pa. and Mr. Robert Jackson, Prescott, Ariz. • GROVER, Eldon Charles, 87, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 1998, in a local hospital. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he was a former lay reader and member of the vestry. A graduate of Ohio University, he earned advanced degrees from the University of Florida and Kings College, University of London, England. At Ohio University, he was a member and officer of Theta Chi Fraternity and during his senior year student director of the Men's Glee Club. At the University of Florida, he was president of the Graduate Club. For several years he was a psychologist with the Florida State Department of Education, where he was coordinator of Deans and Counselors of Florida State and Universities and in charge of S.A.T. and O.A.C. academies testing. He established the Diocesan Student Loan Fund and the Old Saints Memorial, the Roanoke Symphony Young Artist Awards, the Roanoke Symphony Guest Artist Fund, and the Roanoke Valley Choiral Society, Guest Artist Fund. He was a member of the Roanoke Symphony Board of Directors. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Mrs. Jacqueline Woolf Pine, Venice, Calif., Mr. W. S. Woolf, Wichita, Kansas, Dr. William Jackson, East Kingston, N.H., Patricia Jackson Thran, Spring Hill, Fla., Mr. J.A. Grover, Bowie, , Md., Lynda Grover West, North Huntingdon, Pa., Sandra Grover, E Bradford, Pa. and Mr. Robert Jackson, Prescott, Ariz. A memorial funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 1998 with the Rev. Thomas Odell officiating. Memorials may be made to the Eldon C. Grover Student Loan Fund, Diocese of S.W. Va., P.O. Box 257, Roanoke, Va. 24002.

CARLTON C. GROVER was born November 17, 1871, in Bingham Township, Potter County, the son of Charles H. and Eliza (Raymond) Grover. He has been a prosperous farmer, a successful merchant and an active politician in Potter County for many years. He now resides in Ulysses. He is a member of the Baptist Church and of the Grange.
He married, September 21, 1898, H. Emma Kibbe, of Bingham Township, born September 16, 1874, the daughter of George W. and Dorothy (Fuller) Kibbe. The grandparents of both Mr. and Mrs. Grover were pioneer settlers of Potter County. Mrs. Grover is a graduate of Mansfield Normal School and she taught school for several years prior to her marriage. She is a member of the Baptist Church and of W.C.T.U.

(1) Gladys Eliza, of Ithaca, new York, a graduate of Ithaca College. She married Walter S. Wollf. They have two children, Jacqueline Mae and Walter Scott.
