Shirley Snyder
Shirley Snyder My great grandmother, Iva Storey,???? had a picture of the Snyder family reunion that I gave to my father in law, but I am sorry to say that it disappeared. However, she had an uncle Jone /Snyder. Several generations later, my grandmother, Lorena Storey Stebbins lost her husband Leonard Stebbins to an accident and then married Charlie Snyder. Two generations later I married Tom. The Snyders are a big part of my family history.

John Christy Wetzel Shirley Snyder Yes, I'm spending a lot of time trying to tie us all together, getting a lot of help with DNA, and FB, especially Larry Herbstritt's posts. So we're probably related on the DINGMAN side as well. Would you mind sharing your line to DINGMAN? Mine is Etta Josephene DINGMAN SNYDER, Isaac Henry & Eve Lucretia WEIMER DINGMAN, and his parents Henry & Amy Elmina BROCK DINGMAN...

Shirley Snyder The only thing I remember is she was related to the Dingman's that used to own the store in Coneville. They might have been a great aunt and uncle but I can't remember for sure.

Shirley Snyder I am pretty sure it was on Jean's mother's side. Her mom and dad were Tom and Margaret Toles. They lived up Toles Hollow in Coudy for awhile.

Shirley Snyder You are welcome, if I remember more I will let you know. My dad had 1step sister, Mary Rubar and 3 half sisters, Eileen and Madelene Snyder and Charleen Van Pelt who was adopted by the Van Pelts when she was a baby. My dad's mother, Lorena died giving birth to Aunt Char. Grandma was only in her 30'. Great Grandma had a son too, Daniel who married Edith Launsberry (related to the Dunn's). I don't know if you know Otto Story or Art Story, but they are two of their children.

Shirley Snyder My mom was a Yentzer. Dad used to say everyone in Potter County was related to everyone else because way back they couldn't go very far with horses and buggies and I think that is pretty true. My Grandma Yentzer was a Toombs.

John Christy Wetzel I remember my mother telling me about Charlie Snyder, Lorena's death, and Mary Rubar. I think she and Mary were friends, there seemed to be a connection., Wish I'd have paid more attention back then!

Shirley Snyder Me too. My mother inl law used to tell me a lot and I wish I could remember more. You know how it is, you think they will be around forever and don't pay as much attention as you should. Thank God my mom listed some of the family connections in the Bible so I would have it.

John Christy Wetzel Digging this up in my file, I have- Aunt Orilla and Uncle Joe Snyder were foster parents to Mary until Charlie married Lorena Story, who adopted her. If you know differently, please let me know. I think I put these details in my file with mom's help, shortly before she died in 2001.

Having trouble locating your dad in genealogy. I don't have a son for Lorena or Charlie Snyder, just the four girls, so I can't figure out a step-sibling. Help!

Shirley Snyder My dad was born December 9, 1928. He was just a baby when his dad died from an accidental shooting. My dad was raised by Iva and Freeman Storey when he was a child (I think around 8 or 9). I am fortunate enough to have his birth certificate. I found it after he passed on Feb. 17, 2012. He was an awesome dad.

• Wed In Park Church
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Snyder Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport, was the setting for the 2:00 p.m. double-ring ceremony on Sunday (April 10, 1977) which united in marriage Shirley Eileen Stebbins and Thomas Lawrence Snyder.
The Rev. Donald H.G. Miller officiated for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stebbins, Genesee, and the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald L. Snyder Sr., Coudersport. Mrs. Earl Bliss was organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of sheer polyester organza over taffeta trimmed with Venetian lace and fashioned with a sheer keyhole bodice, stand-up wedding ring collar, and long, full sleeves with deep snap-close cuffs. A chapel train was attached to the full back of the skirt which featured a lace motif. Her bridal veil was of Venetian lace and organza accented with seed pearls. Miss Betty Jankowski, Coudersport, served as maid of honor in a long, blue, sleeveless gown complemented by a sheer, floral jacket and blue hat. Bridesmaids, Mrs.
Roxanne Snyder and Mrs. Vickie Setzer, both of Coudersport, were similarly attired in green gowns but with embroidered jackets and white hats. For her daughter's wedding the bride's mother chose a two-piece orchid suit trimmed with white daisies. The groom's mother selected a dress of floral, mint green. Dennis Pesock, Coudersport, was best man.
Ushers were Donald Snyder Jr. and Ronald Setzer, both of Coudersport. Approximately 100 guests attended the reception which was held in the Knights of Columbus Hall in Coudersport. The bride is a graduate of Northern Potter High School and is employed at the Wid-mann Discount Store, Coudersport. Her husband attended Coudersport Area High School and is self-employed.
They will live at Genesee RD2. A bridal shower was given by the maid of honor at the home of the bridegroom's parents..
