• Double Ring Ceremony
St. John's Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore, was the setting at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (May 24, 1975) for the wedding of Peggy A. Saulter and Wayne C. Peer.
The Rev. John C. Lauffer officiated at the double-ring ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester F. Pepperman, Gaines RD1, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Parker G. Peer, Jersey Shore.
Vases of white gladioli and peach-tinted pompons decorated the church sanctuary.
Wearing a mint green crepe, floor-length gown, the bride was given in marriage by her father. It was fashioned in princess stvle with a sauare white lace yoke and front lace panel, standup collar and long sleeves edged with white lace, a deep ruffle at the hemline. A Juliet cap of white lace over mint green held her floor-length veil and she carried a colonial bouquet of camelia leaves, white roses, miniature carnations and baby's-breath.
Mrs, Sandy Rice, Jersey Shore, matron of honor, was attired in a floor-length princess style gown of peach and white floral print crepe, with low rounded neckline and long bell sleeves accented with crocheted lace edging. Identically dressed, but in gowns of white and peach floral print crepe, were the bridesmaids Mrs. Bonnie Bastian, Jersey Shore and Miss Nancy Pepperman, Gaines, sister of the bride. Mrs. Rice's ensemble was complemented with a white picture hat, and the bridesmaids wore hats of white. All carried nosegays of peach miniature carnations, yellow daisies and baby's-breath.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Pepperman chose a pink and white jacket dress accented by a pink rosebud corsage.
The bridegroom's mother selected a cream and blue stripe dress and yellow rosebud corsage.
Dennis Rice, Jersey Shore, served as best man. Ushers were Bob Corbin, Jersey Shore, and Tom Pepperman, Gaines, brother of the bride.
Following the cermeony, 100 guests attended the reception which was held in the church social hall.
White accessories complemented the red and white dress which the bride wore on her wedding trip to an undisclosed destination.
The bride was graduated from Galeton Area High School and is employed by Glamorise Foundations Inc., Williamsport. Her husband was graduated from Jersey Shore Area School and the Allentown Police Academy. He is stationed with the Jersey Shore Regional Police.
Showers for the bride were given by Nancy Pepperman, Ruth Ruffhead and Etta Nichols.
