  	John Henry Knapp John attended Stella School. He married Josie May Webb in 1900 and farm ed southwest of Nemaha for 30 years, then move[d] to Nemaha where he opera ted a prosperous service station and delivered milk around the communit y. He was known for his generosity, was a devoted husband and father a nd an avid high school sports fan. Their children were Gladys Thelma, Eld on E., Lola Hildred (died in infancy) and Zola Mildred. Knapp; Source unknown. Copy PO Lynn Sabin John H. Knapp, son of Miles W. and Fannie Knapp, was born May 4, 1876 at S tella, and passed away at his home in Nemaha, Dec. 19, at the age of 75 ye ars. He grew to manhood on a farm near Stella. On May 1, 1900, he was unit ed in marriage to Josie M. Webb of Nemaha, and to this union there were bo rn four children. After farming near Nemaha for about 30 years, Mr. Knapp moved into the to wn of Nemaha, where he has since resided. He was always interested in mov es that would be for a betterment of the community and the schools. He w as known for his generosity toward others and especially those in troubl e. He was a devoted husband and father. On May 1, of 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Knapp celebrated their golden wedding anni versary. Surviving member of his family are, his widow, who is a patient in a loc al hospital; daughters Mrs. Clyde (Gladys) Duerfeldt, Peru; Mrs. Barney (Z ola) Aufenkam, Nemaha; Eldon Knapp, Nemaha. A daughter, Lola, twin of Mr s. Aufenkamp, died at nine months of age. He also leaves three brothers, E li Knapp, St. Louis, Mo.; Richard R. Knapp, Auburn; Jeff Knapp, Kearne y; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Anna) Kinton, Portland, Ore.; a sister and two br others preceded him in death. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and six grea t-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Nemaha Christian church Sunday, Dec. 2 3, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Conger, officiating. Mrs. Kenneth Stie rs and Mrs. Everage Thomas sang. Mrs. Clarence Hawxby accompanied them. Pallbearers were: Wilmer Keedy, Henry Matschuillat, Orval Handley, Kenne th Stiers, Delbert Duerfeldt, Everett Sapp. Those in charge of the flower s: Mrs. Clinton Bolejack, Mrs. T.W. Wheeler, Mrs. Deloss Boatman. In 1880 he purchased a farm one mile north of Stella where he operated a dairy and supplied the town of Stella with Milk. He married Rachael Hannah (Fannie) Proctor on October 2, 1873. She was bo rn October 18, 1857 in Illinois. Both of her parents died and she came to Nebraska and was reared by the mother of Mrs. Francis Withee. She a nd Mrs. Withee were cousins and near to each other as sisters. They moved back to Nemaha in 1902. They had 8 children: Ed H. born in 1875; John Henry born May 4, 1876, died December 19, 1951; Eli M. born June 23, 1878, died December 8, 1962; Bessie Mae born March 2, 1881; died April 28, 1951; Anna Belle born August 7, 1884, died September 4, 1963; Joseph died at 3 months in 1886; Rich ard Raymond born August 23, 1889, died September 10, 1904, died March 24, 1985. Their children were Raymond Calvin, Blanche Berneice, Vivien Irene, Emory Har old and Carl Joseph. Anna married Clyde Kenton. They lived on farms in the Nemaha vicinity and in western Nebraska and spent their later years in Portland, Oregon. Th eir children were Ruth Bernice and Clyde Barton Jr. Richard attended school in Stella until the family moved to Nemaha when he was 13 years old. He married Maude E. Kenton. They lived a few years in Hillsdale, Wyoming then lived on a farm near Nemaha. They moved to Auburn in 1941. Richard served two terms as County Commissioner. Their children were Alfred Miles, Donald D., Kenneth Kenton, Paul, Francis Olive and Richard Raymond Jr. Jeff was a graduate of Nemaha High School. He married Crystal Ellen Gaskill and they farmed near Nemaha. In 1949 they moved to Table Rock where they owned and operated a grocery store. They had two sons, Bert Howard a nd Lloyd. Miles was a member of the Stella Lutheran Church, the AOUW Stella Lodge and the IOOF of Nemaha. He died June 23, 1914. Fannie attended the English Lutheran Church in Stella and united with t he Christian Church in Nemaha and took an active part as long as she was able. She was a member of the Eastern Star and known for her kind and thoughtful ministration of those in trouble and need. Their children were Alfred Miles, Donald D., Kenneth Kenton, Paul, Francis Olive and Richard Raymond Jr. Jeff was a graduate of Nemaha High School. He married Crystal Ellen Gaskill and they farmed near Nemaha. In 1949 they moved to Table Rock where they owned and operated a grocery store. They had two sons, Bert Howard a nd Lloyd. Miles was a member of the Stella Lutheran Church, the AOUW Stella Lodge and the IOOF of Nemaha. He died June 23, 1914. Fannie attended the English Lutheran Church in Stella and united with t he Christian Church in Nemaha and took an active part as long as she was able. She was a member of the Eastern Star and known for her kind and thoughtful ministration of those in trouble and need. Knapp; Source unknown. Copy PO Lynn Sabin John H. Knapp, son of Miles W. and Fannie Knapp, was born May 4, 1876 at S tella, and passed away at his home in Nemaha, Dec. 19, at the age of 75 ye ars. He grew to manhood on a farm near Stella. On May 1, 1900, he was unit ed in marriage to Josie M. Webb of Nemaha, and to this union there were bo rn four children. After farming near Nemaha for about 30 years, Mr. Knapp moved into the to wn of Nemaha, where he has since resided. He was always interested in mov es that would be for a betterment of the community and the schools. He w as known for his generosity toward others and especially those in troubl e. He was a devoted husband and father. On May 1, of 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Knapp celebrated their golden wedding anni versary. Surviving member of his family are, his widow, who is a patient in a loc al hospital; daughters Mrs. Clyde (Gladys) Duerfeldt, Peru; Mrs. Barney (Z ola) Aufenkam, Nemaha; Eldon Knapp, Nemaha. A daughter, Lola, twin of Mr s. Aufenkamp, died at nine months of age. He also leaves three brothers, E li Knapp, St. Louis, Mo.; Richard R. Knapp, Auburn; Jeff Knapp, Kearne y; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Anna) Kinton, Portland, Ore.; a sister and two br others preceded him in death. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and six grea t-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Nemaha Christian church Sunday, Dec. 2 3, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Virgil Conger, officiating. Mrs. Kenneth Stie rs and Mrs. Everage Thomas sang. Mrs. Clarence Hawxby accompanied them. Pallbearers were: Wilmer Keedy, Henry Matschuillat, Orval Handley, Kenne th Stiers, Delbert Duerfeldt, Everett Sapp. Those in charge of the flower s: Mrs. Clinton Bolejack, Mrs. T.W. Wheeler, Mrs. Deloss Boatman.
