Mrs. Violet P. Atkinson, 62, of Hebron died Sunday, June 4, 1967, in the Robert Packer Hospital at Sayre after being critically ill for four weeks. She was born May 13, 1905 at Hebron, the daughter of Floyd and Ella Everett Peet. She was married to George W. Atkinson Sr. Sept. 3, 1924 at Jamestown, N.Y. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept 24, 1957. Mrs. Atkinson was a member of the First Seventh Day Baptist Church of Hebron and the Hebron Grange. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Wilma A. Webster, Austin; Mrs. Berna A. Phillips, Fort Myers, Fla.; Mrs. Donna A. Grant, Alhambra, Calif.; and Mrs. Elsie A. Dietrick, Coudersport; one son, George W. Atkinson Jr., Columbia City, Ind.; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; her mother, Mrs. Ella Everett Peet Wilcox, Coudersport; one brother, Robert H. Peet, Coudersport; and a sister, Mrs. Virginia P. Allen, Ocala, Fla. Friends were received at the Grabe-Fickinger Funeral Home and the funeral service was held today at 2:00 p.m. from the First Seventh Day Baptist Church of Hebron with the Rev. Herbert E. Saunders, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers were - Roy Thompson, - William Thompson, - L. D. Pepperman, - Steven Snyder, - Paul Snyder, - Walter Metzger, - Leonard Kenyon and - Merritt Miller. He also was going by my folks one night and wondered why there was no light in the barn. So happens I had brought the mumps home from school and my parents who never had them got them and were horribly sick! Couldn't get the milking done. Johnny was the angel that did it. They were such a happy family. We always enjoyed the Bob Peet family visits to our farm.
