MRS. THOMAS CARL FREEMAN, the former Barbara Ann Gorton of Alma, and her husband lire living in Rochester following their marriage Sunday in the Christian Temple. Freeman In Christian Temple Miss Barbara Ann Gorton oceanic the bride of Thomas Carl Freeman in a double - ring ceremony performed at two o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Christian Temple. Rev. O. Blakely Hill officiated against a background of seasonal greenery and lighted tapers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. ;md Mrs. Leslie Earl Gorton of Alma and was given in marriage by her father. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Freeman of 10 East Seventh Sti-cct Coudcrsporl, Pa. are the parents of the groom.' Miss Gorton's floor - length gown was designed with Incc-over-salin bodice, featuring cap sleeves ancl scalloped neckline. Its satin skirt w;:S covered by an ovcrskirt of IH-I in gathered tiers, and banded in Ince to create a modified recl- insote effect. The bridal veil o I fingertip length was caught to a half-bonnet of net embroidered with ir'ridescent sequins. Red and \vhite carnations formed t h e bride's bouquet. Matron of honor was Mrs. Amos LcRoy Lawlon of Wellsville attired in paJe green, waltz-length, net over taffeta with a corsage of yellow carnations. Bridesmaids were Miss Patricia Ann Mesler oi Alma, wearing turquoise satin, ancl Miss Mary Elizabeth Ervin of Aim a in yellow net over satin. Tneir corsages were of pink car- tuitions. Miss Jean Gorton of Al- mn. sister of the bride, attended as junior bridesmaid in a yellow gown of net over 'satin with a corsage of white carnations. Miss Nancy Lee Gorton of Alma, another 'sister of the bride, was flower girl. Her waltz-length gown of light royal blue was fashioned of net over taffeta, and she wore a matching coronet of silk and net. Best man was Amos Leftoy Lnwton of Wellsville. Ushers were Roy Gorton of Alfred Station, brother of the bride, atjd Basil Freeman, Jr. of Coudersport, a brother of the groom. Both mothers selected dresses of navy blue and white with matching accessories and a yellow carnation corsage for the wedding. Traditional music for Ihc ceremony was rendered by Mrs. George Smith at the organ. Immediately after the ceremony a reception for 75 gifests was held In the church parlors with Mrs. ,Ouy Ellis, Jr. of Shlnglehouse, Pa. Mrs. Edward Ellis and Mrs. Donald Palmatier of Wellsville, Mrs. Roy Gorlon of Alfred • Station, Mrs. Shirley Fuller of Alma and Mrs. Robert Cartwrlght of Athens, Pa. serving as hostesses. Guests attended from Bolivar, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Alma, Wellsville, Corning and Coudersport, Roulette, Shinglehouse, Corry, Emporium and Bradford, Pa. Mrs, Freeman, and her husband left after the reception foi Rochester where they will make their home at 72 Franklin Street. The bride is a graduate of Wellsville Central School and the Doyle Beauty School of Buffalo. She was employed by Adam, Meldrum and Anderson in Buf.falo before being transferred to the store's Rochester branch. Mr. Freeman is employed by Western Electric in Rochester and also attends Rochester Business Institute. He graduated from Coudersport High School and served three years with the Marines.
