Was Eileen adopted, step, or foster child? My mother, Merlyn Spring Wetzel and gr-aunt Liz Snyder Tauscher, explained this some decades ago when my interest in the family history was just getting off the ground but the details have faded some.
I remember that Charlie 'just didn't have the resources' after Lorena died.

Gail Jackson Ayers, Tom's father in law, Leighton Mix was the one driving a log truck drunk, crossed the center line and hit my mom head on in the Dugway. Bonnie Blanchard and my mom were killed, 8/4/1966. Leighton died two weeks later
