Bernie Jolly and Mike Borro grew up in Freedom Pa. My dads hometown. They were both standout football stars st Freedom High and rec'd college scholarships Bernie at Glenville in West Virginia...Mike was recruited by legendary coach Bear Bryant to play at Kentucky. Mike blew out his knee...and lost his scholarship. Not uncommon in that era. After knee repair surgery...Mike joined Bernie and played at Glenville. One memorable match up for Bernie was lining up across scrimmage against another Beaver County football legend...Sewickley H.S. star Chuck Knox...who played at Juniata College...and went on to a long NFL career as player and coach.
