Briefly, here are a few: A district game protector spotted a large bruin in a corn field on a farm near Ulysses. It has been seen on several occasions by neighborhood residents. A group of men en route to their Coudersport homes late at night from a camp in South Woods saw a mother bear and two cubs in the road in front of their car. These bears have also been spotted by other persons. Pennsylvania State Trooper Harold McQuown and his family had to slow their car to avoid an old bear and her two cubs on the Austin road about 9:30 one night recently. A medium -sized bruin has been making regular visits to a Galeton sidehill home during the past couple of weeks. Leroy Slenker, York County hunter, saw a fair-sized bear in the Denton Hill area while gunning for turkeys earlier this month. Young Eddie Darrin, Coudersport., reported seeing a small bruin just west of Coudersport in the Toles Hollow country while hunting turkeys. Dr. Ed Bowser, York archer, had an unusual experience in the Cross Fork country during October when (Ocntinuod from Page id!
