Mrs. Bessie Jordan,
Native of Wellsville,
Dies in Waldric, NJ.
Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Bessie Jordan In Waldrlck, N. J. late Friday night after a lengthy Illness.
She was born In Niles Hill (Wellsville? -jcw), Jan. 30, 1895, the daughter of George and Mary Hanchett, and at one time worked for the Wellsville Daily Reporter before entering tfte nursing profession.
Mrs. (J)ordan graduated from Olean General Hospital in 1923 and was a former Night Superintendent at that hospital.
She was married to Monroe Jordan who preceded her In death. Surviving are
- a son, James Jordan of Waldrlck, N. J.,
and two grandchildren;
three sisters,
- Mrs. Blanche Burgie of Smethport, Pa.,
- Mrs. Nettie Sundell of Santa Clara, Cal., and
- Mrs. Belle Snyder of Belmont; and also four brothers
- Clyde and Clayton Hanchett. of Belmont,
- Burdette Hanchett of Birdsall, and
- Bernard Hanchett of Imperial Beach, Cal.
Friends may call at the Halwig Funeral Home in Olean where services will be held at 8:30 tomorrow morning followed by further services at St. Mary's Church.
- Burial Will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
