Former Athens Teacher Dies
Adrian R. Rowe, 62, of Galeton, Pa., brother of Harlan Rowe of East Athens, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 26, 1971 at the Robert Packer Hospital following a lingering illness.
Born in Athens, Jan, 19, 1909, the son of the late James H. and Maude Musselman Rowe, he was a 1927 graduate of Athens High School and from Mansfield State Teachers College in 1933.
He received his master's degree from Alfred University and taught in the Athens schools from 1933 to 1940.
He moved to Galeton in 1940 and purchased and operated a dairy until 1944. While operating the dairy he taught in Galeton schools from 1941 until retiring after 37 years of teaching in June of this year. While in the Valley he was very active in the Boy Scout program. He was a member of the Galeton United Methodist Church and served as its treasurer for many years.
Survivors are
- his wife, Kate Hosley Rowe, at home,
- a daughter Mrs. Ronald (June) Howard of Ithaca;
- a son, James Rowe of Williamstown, N.J.;
two grandchildren,
- a brother, Harlan Rowe of East Athens; and
- an aunt, Mrs. Frank Sargent of Athens.
Funeral services will be held at the Collins Funeral Home in Galeton Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Collins Funeral Home, Galeton, with the Rev. William Lusk officiating.
- Burial was in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.

- Merle BLiss, - Robert Grant,
- Louis Fitzgerald, and - Robert Martin.

ADRIAN ROWE WEDS NEW JERSEY GIRL
Athens Dec. 26 -- Marriage of Adrian Rowe, teacher In the Athens high school and son of Mrs. Maude Rowe of 610 Church street, to Miss Kate Hosley, daughter of Mrs. Mary Hosley of Clayton, N. J., at Brooklands Friday was announced here today.
The couple was married at the home of John Stone, in the presence of their immediate families, and left on a short wedding trip to Washington, D. C, and nearby points. They returned Christmas day.
Mrs. Rowe is a teacher in the Harrison Valley high school and will remain there to complete the present term. Following the close of school, the couple will reside In Athens.
