WHY HE IS SO PROUD
Dont you know why E. G. Stocking looks so gay ?
It is not the dawn of prohibition, Oh, no!
But it is that telegram which announced the arrival of a fine boy at the home of Mr. and . Mrs. Walter Stocking in West Virginia.
He is a grand dad that's why.
HERE FROM AUSTIN
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Whittaker and Miss Bertha Wold drove over from Austin yesterday. Miss Wold came to secure her naturalization papers before starting for Mexico, where she is to serve with the Union army of America as a nurse. She certainly has a wonderful record in the late war. Her parents were from Norway.
HERE FROM ROCHESTER
Hon. and Mrs. O. G. Metzger have been entertaining during the past week their son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs E. F. Effinger, and their charming daughter, Miss Phyllis. It seems but a little time ago when Phyllis left here a little girl and now she comes back to her old friends a real young lady of seventeen.

BOUGHT BIG WEEKLY
M. T. Stokes of the ENTERPRISE, has closed a deal for the purchase of the Dodgeville, Wis., Chronicle, a county seat newspaper with 4200 circulation and one of the most successful weeklies in the country. Mr. Stokes has secured an editor and manager for his new property and he will continue to give all his time and attention to his old and best love - the Potter Enterprise.
HERE FOR SUNDAY
Mr. and Mrs. James Scott and family, of Hallsport, N. Y., drove over to their old home Sunday and had dinner at the home of James Madison. They are all well and happy and while they are prosperous they like to get back to the old home town once in a while. Coudersport never had a better citizen than James Scott. He last heard from his brother, Albert, who is enroute here from the State of Washington by auto with his family, at Yellowstone Park, about two weeks ago. They are expected to arrive in this section very soon.
BIG FORCE AT WORK.
Will Phelps has a good sized force of men at work on the old VanBuren corner and it is his intention to have a commodious and first class garage in working shape in the quickest time that is possible to get it constructed and equipped. Will says he is going to have all the necesary machinery to give Coudersport just as up-to- date a garage as they have in any of the larger cities. He nas a good share of the material already on hand and is right on the job makine things go himself.
SOME FINE HOLSTEINS
W.W. Blauvelt, a progressive farmer of Summit, has a fine start with Holstein thoroughbreds. He recently purchased from the Broadhurst Holstein Farm at Morrisville, NY, a heifer whose dam has a twenty-seven pound record and whose sire's mother has a thirty-one pound record. Walter has a start of four thoroughbreds and he's the kind that will grow.
