Dies in Hospital
Joseph Yannie, retired woods worker, died Tuesday (Apr. 15, 1958) at the Potter County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for months out suffered a stroke Saturday and was hospitalized.
He was bom October 18, 1887 in Oquila, Italy, the son of Antony and Louise Yannie.
He came to the United States in 1906 and was naturalized in 1940. He lived in Bradford before moving to Coudersport 15 years ago.
Mr. Yannie was married August 3, 1920 in Limestone, N. Y., to the former Antoinette Naples who survives.
Besides his wife he is survived by
six daughters:
- Mrs. Louise Camp, Hornell NY,
- Mrs. Mary Mitchell,
- Mrs. Lucy White,
- Mrs. Leona Shaver,
- Mrs. Josephine Corey and
- Miss Anne Yannie, all of Coudersport;
four sons,
- John Yannie and
- Alexander Yannie, both of Kennedy, NY,
- Lawrence Yannie, Falconer NY, and
- Paul Yannie, Coudersport.
Other survivors include 18 grandchildren and
four brothers,
- Gregory Yannie and
- Valentino Yannie of Canisteo NY, and
two brothers in Italy.
The rosary will be recited at the Grabe Funeral Home at 8:00 o'clock this evening. Mass will follow the 9:00 o'clock funeral service Friday morning at St. Eulalia Church. The Rev. Arthur Leon will officiate.
- Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery.
