John H. Karr
John H. Karr, 66, of Coudersport RD, died Saturday (April 27, 1974) at his home.
Born in New Brighton, Jan. 14, 1906, he was a son of Arzie and Mary Armour Karr. On April 24, 1928, at Cumberland, W. Va., he married the former Jean Roser, who survives.
Mr. Karr had been a Coudersport resident since 1948 where he was the former owner and operator of Old Hickory Tavern. Prior to 1948, he lived in New Brighton where he was employed by the Spang Chalfant Steel Corp.
He was a member of Central Grange 1216, Eulalia Lodge 342 F&AM, and Coudersport, Consistory.
Besides his widow, he is survived by
- a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lattin, Coudersport;
and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Grabe-Fickinger Funeral Home where Masonic Memorial services were held at 8:00 p.m. Monday by members of Eulalia Lodge 342. A funeral service was held there, at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. H. Robert Jewell, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating.
- Burial was in Eulalia Cemetery.
