I am not familiar with your ancestry so I do not feel qualified to comment as to whether of not you have the correct people. While Peter and Mary Elizabeth are in my Tree File, I am not connected to them at the moment. Nor do I have any of their ancestors but it is a Tree much in flux. I am searching for my ancestry in the Wetzel line at about that point, having severed the connections that I did have to Wetzel immigrants in the 18th century. I have spent some time in the Records building in Wythe County, where I found many Wetzels/Whetzels and Pauffs/Poffs. I've also gone to the Augusta County Courthouse but I don't have those notes at hand; this intrigues me now, so I will search for them. Sorry I can't be of any more help with your connection, but if you give me some more information that I may be able to link 'my people' to, I'll be glad to try. I have no access other than Ancestry.com, My heritage, familysearch.org (my favorite and it's free) I have some texts but unfortunately they really are not helpful. It doesn't help when they use common names???? generation after generation. It appears some have linked John Reed to John Wetzel and then John Wetshell. ( I received a snarky email from someone who swears it is whitesell. Thus with checking the dates that would put the lady of the house marrying at age 81 and then giving birth to three more children. I really do not think that is correct. I love the family tree research, it is fascinating to me.
