FOUST, JACOB
Warsaw, was born in Lycoming Co. on Feb. 12, 1843, and came to Jefferson Co. in 1855, where he became engaged in farming and now owns 54 acres. He enlisted in Company H, 105th PA Vols. on Aug. 29, 1861, and was at the battle of Fair Oaks and Malvern Hill; was taken prisoner at Bull Run; paroled, and was at the battles of Chancellorsville and Gettysburg where he lost an arm. His parents were John and Esther (Epler) Foust. He was married on Jan. 11, 1868 to Kate Foust, a daughter of Philip and Catherine (Rupert) Foust. They have had a family of 5 children: William J., Rozella, Sadie J., Ida M., and Governor Mead.

OBITUARY
Mrs Cass Foust
Mrs. Cass Foust, aged 84 years, died Wednesday morning, March 25, at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elva Crispen, 37 Kingsbury avenue, Bradford. She had been ill for several years but had been confined to her bed only since the preceding Saturday.
She was born in West Fountain, Pa., on May 21, 1851. She was a resident of Brookville for 20 years, before going to Bradford four years ago.
- She was the widow of Jacob Foust, a Civil War Veteran.
- Surviving are
- one son, John Foust. of Creswell, Ore.;
six daughters,
- Mrs. Francis Long, of Donald, Ore;
- Mrs. Rosey Stubbs, Brockway;
- Mrs. Sarah Clanes, Johnsonburg;
- Mrs. Lucille McManigle, Brookville;
- Mrs. Benjamin Schierer and
- Mrs. Elva Crispen, Bradford;
two sisters,
- Mrs. Mary, Cole, Jefferson county, and
- Mrs. Eliza Star, Brockway. Thirty-six grandchildren and 16 great-grand children also survive.
Funeral services were held at the Crispen home in Bradford last Saturday at 11 a. mn., after which the remains were taken to the Temple cemetery in Warsaw township for interment.
