I saw Knopsnyder in your tree, a name I’ve never heard before, but my mother's mother was a SNYDER from Hebron twp, Potter County, PA, near Port Allegany and Coudersport and where DINGMANs lived. I hope to look more closely at your tree a little later. BTW, Mike has no idea about our little family mystery, nor does my dad, who became a widower 19 years ago. Chautauqua has added significance in this and my life, about which, more later. I suspect several of the genetic connections may also be 'mis-labelled' with fathers not who they think they are, at least somewhere up the line. Imagine the confusion the birth from an unknown affair, or worse, can have down the genetic line, now that we can actually see the DNA evidence! And further complicating my quest, at least, is the fact that this biological father picks up the same ancestry as mine a few generations back! Fascinating!! I went through records in Mayville and Westfield(?) a few years ago and found some interesting information that I still haven't digested, but one fascinating story was a murder triangle involving a ...
