Patricia A. Bell
“beloved wife and mother”
Patricia A. “Pat” Bell, 83, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away with her loving family at her side on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born on May 3, 1929 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of Floyd P. Chastain and Maude Eva Meacham Chastain Fulmer.
- On June 10, 1950 in Olean, NY, she married Ralph E. Bell, who survives.
Mrs. Bell was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School, class of 1947. After graduation, she worked for the former Oswayo River Telephone Company in Shinglehouse.
Mrs. Bell was a charter member of the Bell Run Union Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader and she was also a member of the Bell Run Community Club.
In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three sons,
- Ed (Nani) Bell and
- Michael G. (Beth) Bell, both of Shinglehouse, and
- Douglas F. (Kim) Bell of Lavina, Montana;
- a daughter, Patricia L. “Patsy” (Preston) Colbey of Elizabethtown;
13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
- a brother, Floyd P. (Patricia) Chastain of Lockport, NY:
- a sister, Louise E. (Bill) Lewis of Beaver Falls, PA;
and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents.
At Mrs. Bell’s request, there will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11am on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Bell Run Union Church with Pastor Chad Shaffer, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bell Run Union Church, 904 Taylor Brook Rd, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc., P.O. Box 348, Warrenton, MO 63383.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
