Bell “beloved wife and mother” Patricia A. “Pat” Bell, 83, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away with her loving family at her side on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a short illness. Born on May 3, 1929 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of Floyd P. Chastain and Maude Eva Meacham Chastain Fulmer. - On June 10, 1950 in Olean, NY, she married Ralph E. Bell, who survives. Mrs. Bell was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School, class of 1947. After graduation, she worked for the former Oswayo River Telephone Company in Shinglehouse. Mrs. Bell was a charter member of the Bell Run Union Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader and she was also a member of the Bell Run Community Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed antiquing and most importantly, spending time with her family. Surviving, besides her husband, are three sons, - Ed (Nani) Bell and - Michael G. (Beth) Bell, both of Shinglehouse, and - Douglas F. (Kim) Bell of Lavina, Montana; - a daughter, Patricia L. “Patsy” (Preston) Colbey of Elizabethtown; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; - a brother, Floyd P. (Patricia) Chastain of Lockport, NY: - a sister, Louise E. (Bill) Lewis of Beaver Falls, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her parents. At Mrs. Bell’s request, there will be no public visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11am on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Bell Run Union Church with Pastor Chad Shaffer, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bell Run Union Church, 904 Taylor Brook Rd, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or Child Evangelism Fellowship, Inc., P.O. Box 348, Warrenton, MO 63383. Arrangements are under the direction of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA. LANCASTER, Ohio---Louise E. Chastain Lewis, 87, of Lancaster, formerly of Shinglehouse, Pa., passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, in Country Lane Gardens, Pleasantville, Ohio, after a lengthy illness.

Born on Monday, August 8, 1932 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Floyd P. and Maude Eva Meacham Chastain.
-On August 27, 1955 in the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, she married William A. “Bill” Lewis, Sr., who survives.

Louise was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School, Class of 1951.
She was a graduate of the former Bradford Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse, having worked in various hospitals as she traveled with her husband with his work. She retired as a nurse having ended her career in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.

Louise was a member of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church until moving after her marriage. She was a devout Christian and very active in the churches she belonged to throughout her life.

Surviving besides her husband are
three children,
-Deborah L. (Wilson “Bill”) Howell of Greer, South Carolina,
-Diane E. (Frank) Thielman of Pickerington, Ohio, and
-William A. (Glenda) Lewis, Jr. of Lancaster, Ohio;
seven grandchildren,
-Michael Howell,
-Andrew (Hayden) Howell,
-Zachary Howell,
-Isaac (Katie) Thielman,
-Eric (Johneric Peralta) Thielman,
-Emma Lewis, and
-Tess Lewis;
six great-grandchildren,
-Wyatt Howell,
-Corilyn Howell,
-Karli Thielman,
-Isaac Thielman,
-Charlie Howell, and
-Elizabeth Howell;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by
-a sister, Patricia “Pat” Bell; and
-a brother, Floyd P. Chastain.

There will be no public visitation.
-Burial will be held in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, Pa., on Monday, January 27, 2020.

A memorial service will be held in the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church on a date and time to be announced.

Memorials in Louise’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.

Louise’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa.
