COUDERSPORT, Pa. - Blanche E. Calhoun, 91, of Coudersport, formerly of Shinglehouse and Oswayo, passed away Wednesday (Dec. 16, 2015) in the Skilled Nursing Facility of Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born on May 14, 1924, in Raymond, she was a daughter of Floyd and Myra Galpin Perkins. On Aug. 30, 1941, in Ulysses, she married Warren H. Calhoun, who passed away June 13, 2001.
Mrs. Calhoun was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School. She was employed by the former Midland Optical in Coudersport and later owned and operated Blanche's Cut 'N Sew Fabric Shop in Sharon Center. Blanche served as the activities director at the former Hewitt Manor in Shinglehouse.
Blanche was a charter member of the Hebron Union Church in Coudersport. She served as a monitor at the Hebron Center Christian School. She loved to cook and bake. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Her greatest loves were her family and the Lord.
Surviving are a son, Ricky D. (Amanda) Calhoun of Friendship; three daughters, Jan K. (Dave) Clark of Noblesville, Ind., Jayne R. (Jim) Buchanan of Shinglehouse and Barbara L. (Harold) Kiel of Genesee; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Robert) Watson of Olean; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Calhoun was predeceased by five brothers, Dorr Perkins, Rueben Perkins, Robert Perkins, Lloyd Perkins and Floyd Perkins Jr.; and six sisters, Elizabeth Hamilton, Myrtle Smith, Gertie Freelove, Phyllis Thompson and Ruth Tambash.
Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Calhoun was predeceased by five brothers, Dorr Perkins, Rueben Perkins, Robert Perkins, Lloyd Perkins and Floyd Perkins Jr.; and six sisters, Elizabeth Hamilton, Myrtle Smith, Gertie Freelove, Phyllis Thompson and Ruth Tambash.
Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.
