I could not link the family in this photo to my family, but I did confirm identities and add details using news clips and ancestry.com. Attached is a corrected version of the photo (using the Auto Correct feature in Picture Manager for Microsoft Office 2010). The sons are (left to right): --1st Lt. George Mark Piaquadio served in the US Army Air Forces, previously known as the US Army Air Corps. Earned seven bronze service stars representing combat in seven campaigns. His cap has an officer’s insignia. --Floyd Anthony Piaquadio served in the US Navy. Above the chevrons on his sleeve is a crossed-cannons insignia representing a Gunner’s Mate. --Anthony Albert “Tony” Piaquadio served in the US Navy. Above the chevrons is a C for Ship’s Cook. --Maurice G. “Larry” Piaquadio served in the US Army Air Forces, which became the US Air Force in 1947. His cap has an enlisted man’s insignia. He was discharged in 1943 for health reasons. --Daniel Joseph “Danny” Piaquadio survived the sinking of the USS Reuben James.
