Jack W. Kirkendall (1931 - 2012)
GALETON, Pa. - Jack W. Kirkendall, 80, of Galeton, died Monday (April 2, 2012) at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Born Nov. 8, 1931, in Wellsville, N.Y., he was the son of Howard and Mary Watkins Kirkendall. He was married to the former Donna Grant, who survives.
Jack was a 1949 graduate of Galeton High School. A Korean War veteran, he served honorably with the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955.
He owned and operated Galeton Motor Sales for many years and was a school bus driver in the Galeton Area School District for 35 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galeton.
Surviving besides his wife, Donna, are
two daughters,
- Kathi Eskesen, of Mansfield, and
- Patti Kirkendall, of Horseheads, N.Y.;
five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and
- a sister-in-law, Eleanor Kirkendall, of Springville, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by
- two brothers, Maurice Kirkendall and Robert Kirkendall.
- Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.

Donna G. KIRKENDALL, of Galeton, PA, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 in her home.
She was the daughter of Clifford and Doris Peasley Grant.
She was married to Jack W. Kirkendall, who predeceased her on April 2, 2012.
A graduate of Galeton High School, she was employed by Commonwealth Bank in Galeton for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Galeton.
Surviving are:
two daughters,
- Kathi Eskesen of Galeton and
- Patti Kirkendall of Horseheads, NY;
five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and
- a brother, Richard (Toni Marie) Grant of Sunderlinville, PA.
A private graveside service will be held in Ulysses Cemetery.
