Robert Saulter The hill that Dwight Rd goes over....Between South Branch Rd and Baker Cr Rd....Dwight Rd is the one just past Kenny and Beverly Rogers. We've always referred to that as Higley Hill.

Earl B. Higley
Myerstown
Earl B. Higley, 88, formerly of Potter and Tioga Counties, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon.
He was the husband of Marjorie S. (Schlosnagle) Higley, to whom he was married 64 years. Marjorie preceded him in death on June 28, 2017.
Born in Oswayo, Potter Co., on May 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Harold and Lila (Kemp) Higley.
A 1946 graduate of Shinglehouse High School, Earl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer and carpenter in Potter County for many years. Earl served in various church ministries as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, youth director, and on various committees. He went on various mission trips including Brazil, Belize, and AK, and was in full time Christian camping for a few years in VA and PA.
Earl was a member of Mt. Aetna Bible Church and enjoyed horse training.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce, wife of Douglas Harris, of Lancaster; sons, Jerry, husband of Karen Higley, of Lebanon; Ronald, husband of Tracy Higley, of Wernersville; Richard, husband of Faith Higley, of Lititz; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Brown, of LaGrange, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald, husband of Beverly Higley, of Coudersport; and a grandson, Luke Earl Higley.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Aetna Bible Church, 11 N. Chestnut St., Mt. Aetna, preceded by a visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon Valley Youth For Christ, 740 Willow St., Lebanon, PA 17046.

John Brown monument at Elba, New York. Standing beside the monument:
- Harold Benjamin Higley, b. 19 Nov 1905;
- his wife, Lila C. (Kemp) Higley.
On the monument with John Brown is a Negro boy. His grave is in an iron enclosure just a little ways from the monument. The other ment that were killed in the Harper's affair are also buried in the enclosure.
