Dawn Newton, I could spot your Mom Thelma! Bob Peet is John Peet’s father. Arneda Dingman is Moms double cousin also. Her name was also misspelled! Ronald Brock is Bill Brock’s father!

Kaye, that is interesting. I wondered if Ronald was Billy Brock's father, as I have seen other pictures of him. (I always called Bill, Billy) he was my boyfriend in Elementary school, if you remember.

- notice the Peets, John Peet saved my Uncle's and his family's life when the their furnace leaked fumes. He also was going by my folks one night and wondered why there was no light in the barn. So happens I had brought the mumps home from school and my parents who never had them got them and were horribly sick! Couldn't get the milking done. Johnny was the angel that did it. They were such a happy family. We always enjoyed the Bob Peet family visits to our farm.

Mary McClay The full story is that Uncle Ernie's entire family was in the hospital with pneumonia. He had been discharged and was home but the rest of the family were still in the hospital. John Peete drove by Uncle Ernie's place on Fishing Creek late at night and the lights were all on. He thought that odd and stopped by. There was no answer at the door but John could see through a window Uncle lying on the floor. John got in touch with my dad and he came immediately. They broke in the house and drug him our into the fresh air and took him to our place for the night. It would not have been much longer until he would have died.

Good to know, I knew they were all in the hospital, but my childhood mind heard it as the result of leak. So glad all were ok, Your reminder is so important to get my stories right. I remember there was much said about that the problem impacted the whole family's health. The good thing is that John came along. That was quite an experience. For ours at home, I was in 1st grade or 2nd I believe, and just remember it was dark when he came to the house, neither parent could really stand and walk, they were so sick. I felt so guilty that I brought the mumps home and gave them to Betty as well as my folks. Neighbors are so special to have! To all of us the idea that they/he could have died was a very earth shattering memory. We loved our cousins and elders so much.
