Lewis Reunion
The Lewis Reunion Thursday, August 25th, 1887, called out a large number of people. Owing to the cool weather it was held in Gridley’s Theater. It was one of the most enjoyable occasions within the recollection on any of those who participated. No attempt was made at display or formality, but each seemed intent on making the most of the occasion for social enjoyment. The tables were spread at about 1 P.M., and eighty-seven sat down at once. All joined in singing the “Doxology” before partaking of the refreshments. A few came in a little later, making the entire number present about one hundred. While the tables were being cleared, Messers. John and O. A. Lewis and Wm. Suhr gave some fine instrumental music. Then the whole party grouped themselves north of the Baptist church and Mr. L. R. Bliss, of Coudersport, took a photograph of them.
The following officers were re-elected for ensuing year:
Mrs. M. Lavina Lewis, Pres., of Coudersport, Pa.
John Lewis, Vice Pres. Lewisville, Pa.
Seth Lewis, Esq., Secy., Ulysses, Pa.
