Niles passed away at his home Friday after suffering for a year and a half Cephus W, Niles died at his home in South Main street. For a year and a half he had been a great sufferer with an incurable diseas and although everything possible was done for his relief it was only possible to prolong his days of suffering. However when the end came, it was with shocking suddenness for during the week he had been down town and even the day before he died he was down to the barber shop and seemed to be considerably improved physically. Cephus W. Niles was the son of Russell and Elizabeth (Metzger) Niles and was born fifty-six years ago on the farm on Niles Hill where his brother Frank now lives and where all of his younger days were spent. For the past fifteen years, Mr. Niles has been engaged in lumbering and had met with considerable success. About thirty years ago he was married to Miss Sarah McCormlck who with one son Paul and and a daughter Christine survive him; also one little granddaughter, the child of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Niles. He is also survived by one brother, Frank L. Niles and one sister, Mrs. Mame Neefe, of Sweden. Mr. Niles was a man who had many friends. He was genial, kind and whole hearted. He was a Mason and all his life has been a resident of this place. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 and was under the auspices of the Masonic order. The Rector of Christ's church, Rev. A. V. Binnington officiated and burial was made in the Eulalia cemetery. Mrs. Niles' sister and husband Mr. , and Mrs. Frank A. Johnson of Towanda came to attend the funeral services.
