Born Feb. 18, 1905, in Somerset County, son of the late Joseph and Nora (DeArmitt) Snyder. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Stahl) Snyder, June 21, 1984. Survived by these children: - Betty D. Fritz, Boynton Beach, Fla., and - Carolyn E. Thomas, Berlin; four grandchildren: - Jerry Fritz, Grantsville, Md.; - Ralph S. Fritz, North Palm Beach, Fla.; - Linda Gerhard, Meyersdale, and - Terry Thomas, Somerset; eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and - one brother, Russell Snyder, New Jersey. He was a member of the Sipesville Church of the Brethren. Formerly employed by Consolidation Coal Company and retired from the Somerset State Hospital. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (today), and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Danny R. Bailey officiating. - Interment, Stoystown IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Sipesville Church of the Brethren.
