Harold W. Prouty 61 of Watrous PA drowned Aug 15, 1966 in Lake Pine, Quebec Canada.
Mr Prouty's body was discovered about 6:30 PM Tuesday by a fellow member of the Pine Lake Club. The Prouty's had part ownership of a hunting lodge on Pine Lake and had vacationed there for several years. The couple were reported to be returning from a fishing trip when the accident happened.
Mr Prouty was employed as a night watchman at the Dresser Mfg. Co. plant in Wellsboro.
He was the son of William Nathaniel Prouty and Nellie J. (Champney) Prouty.
He was proceeded in death by
- his Father William,
- brother Lester V., and
- sister Nola Louise (Prouty) Seeley.
He leaves behind
- his wife Margaret,
- Mother Nellie,
brothers - Leo C., and
- Lawrence M. and
- sister Ruby B. (Prouty) McCann.
