Joseph Conners, of Shingle House, Who Had Both Feet Cut Off.
Some days ago Joseph Conners, of Shingle House, fell from a train near Manhattan, Kansas, and both feet were cut off. This young man who is about 25 years of age, has had quite an eventful career. At one time he was one of the brightest students in the Mansfield Normal school, with prospects of becoming a man of considerable prominence, but the desire to accumulate money more repidly than possible by legitimate means, caused him to enter into the business of illegal liquor selling at Shingle House, with the result that he was arrested, convicted and sentenced to serve 3 months in the county jail....
