"The Sabbath Recorder" Vol. 24, No. 15, p. 59, April 9, 1868
In Alfred N.Y., March 29, 1868, Mr. Paris Green, in the 82nd year of his age.
Bro. Green had been a citizen of Alfred some fifty-two years.
He was a man of real worth, but for many years had been deprived of the privileges of active life, on account of sickness, resulting in the total loss of eyesight.
He was a man of sound judgement and guided his affairs with discretion. He united with those constituting the Second Seventh-Day Baptist Church of Alfred, at its organization, and retained his membership until death. In his sickness his love remained strong toward God, and his faith in Jesus Christ was unshaken in his dying hours.

"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 39, No. 36, p 5, September 6, 1883
At her home in Alfred, N.Y., August 16,1883, of complication of diseases and age, Mrs. Polly Green, wife of Paris Green, deceased, aged 94 years and 1 month.
This aged sister had been a long time confined to her house by her infirmities, and so had not for years assembled with God's people for worship. She nevertheless was looking forward in the hope of the gospel.
She was born in East Greenwich, R.I., in 1789, and moved to Madison county, N.Y., in 1801, and was married to Paris Green in 1807.
In 1816 she moved to Alfred, where she continued to reside the remainder of her life, becoming the mother of nine children, seven of whom are still living.
She was fifteen years a widow.
The period of this long life covers many of the great events and changes of this century in the history of the nation, the town in which she died, the church of which she was a member, and of her own family. Her long life is ended, the toil is over, and the reality, more real than the present life, is entered.
Sermon by the writer, August 18th, from Heb. 11:16.
