John Kenneth "Jack" Dunn, 77, formerly of Port Allegany,
John Kenneth "Jack" Dunn, 77, formerly of Port Allegany, died Friday morning (Sept. 9, 2011) at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo, NY, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 8, 1933, in Port Allegany, he was a son of James and Pearl Shawley Dunn.
On Feb. 14, 1998, in Port Allegany, he married Patricia K. Chase, who survives.
Mr. Dunn graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1952. After running the family dairy farm for several years, he moved to Buffalo in 1973. He spent the next 37 years with DeGeorge Ceilings, eventually becoming general manager of the company's Buffalo office before retiring due to ill health in 2010.
An avid sports fan, he was a 30-year Buffalo Bills season ticket holder who attended all four of their Super Bowl appearances, but his greatest passion was reserved for St. Banaventure basketball. A Bonnies season ticket holder since 1958, he began scouting high school players for the program in the mid-1960s at the request of Coach Larry Weise.
Surviving besides his wife are

- Todd Lyness,
- Melissa,
- Matthew,
- Mandy and
- Mark Dunn,
- Amanda Deacy,
- Courtney Dunn,

He was predeceased by

- a sister, Dorothy Baker;
- a stepdaughter, Connie Hagg Thrash;
and wives,
- June Place Dunn and
- Betty Hagg Dunn.
Family and friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday (Sept. 13, 2011) at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1700 N. French Road, Getzville, NY, with Father James C. O'Connor, pastor, as celebrant.
- A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Port Allegany.
