It's kinda cool that Kidney sat next to Head. It must have been the body parts section of the row.

I remember stories about the athletic skills of "Clydie "Austin....Dutch Huntington had his ear almost torn off....got stitched up at halftime...and went back to the game. His son George confirmed that story. Another early Coudy gridder... Art Menschel......gave my Dad his football "helmet"...it was one of those early "dog ear" folding leather models. I think dad gave it to the Potter County Historical Society when Bob Currin was in charge. Cool stuff!

I wonder if no 7 is Billy Benn, well known WWII pilot who perfected low altitude bombing. He was killed in New Guinea in 1943. He was a major in the 5 th Air Force. I've read articles about him and they list him from Coudersport, Williamsport, and Phila area graduating from Temple. My Dad often spoke of him.

Who was Brock, anybody know?

It wouldn't suprise me if Brock was the gentleman who owned Brock's metal scrap yard. The office was on Chestnut Street and the scrap yard was located close the the old Round House. I remember the Brock home was on North Main Street.

My 3rd/4th grgrandparents were Brock; I thought he might be related, so of course, I've been back at the genealogy table. Norm's parents were from Russia, so I guess I can forget that one. I am curious, though, if I'm related to Chuckie Runyon; John was my 5th grgrandfather, and Nancy RUNYON STAFFORD was my 4th grgrandmother...

RESUME OF FOOTBALL SEASON OF COUDERSPORT HIGH SCHOOL TEAM
Nearly All of Eleven Will Graduate in June - "Dutch Huntington Selected as Most Valuable Man in Aggregation - Austin Member of Clem Flynn's Mythical Team - Results of Season's Games - Entertained by Rotarians.
The Enterprise is in receipt of this summary of the games played by the Coudersport High School football team during the season which we gladly give space:
E. P. (Dutch) Huntington, Jr., has been selected as the most valuable man to the team of 1925 and has been awarded the Henry W. Staiger prize.
Clyde Austin, Captain, has been selected as a half back on the first team of Clem Flynn's Southwestern New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania Mythical Scholastic eleven. Clem Flynn wrote at length concerning the praises of Austin.
Results: Alumni. 0. C. H. S. 3;
Port Allegany 6, C. H. S. 19;
Olean 41. C. H. S. 0;
Wellsboro, 0, C. H. S. 6;
Galeton 0. C. H. S. 15;
Emporium 6, C. H. S. 0;
Galeton 12, C. H. S. 0;
Port Allegany 7, C. H. S. 6;
Emporium 0, C. H. S. 19.
Tony English and his scrubs lost twice to Ulysses' first team.
Ulysses 20 to 13 and 13 to 7.
Eight of C.H.S. football men graduate in June. Graduation of eight varsity football men will place a burden upon the 1925 Scrubs if C.H.S. is to have a winning team in the fall of 1925.
Woodworth. Moore, Erway, Moran. Kidney, Head. Huntington, and Huff leave in June, and there is a chance of Austin not playing which makes a total of nine of this year's team lost. Only two of the regular line-up remain, Brock and Beckman.
The 1925 season closed with five victories and four defeats. Recognition of the C.H.S. football squad by the Rotarians resulted in a banquet on November 30. The squad certainly enjoyed themselves at this affair and since then have been talking of the good fellowship of the Rotarians.
